I'm actually feeling a bit cautiously optimistic myself. In any case, I reckon it will surpass the Easter one.

I bloody well hope so as I thought "Planet Of The Dead" was pretty weak.

This one looks groovy.

They do Prog/Meg sized boxes you know, albeit I've not yet seen ones of that groovy design (my ones have "2000ad" pre-printed on the front to make it clear what size they are).

My entire collection is housed in those 2000 AD boxes. Also great for Creepy's, Eerie's, Conan's, and UK comics such as Star Wars, Dracula Lives and Planet Of The Apes.

Prog / Re: Prog 1662 - The Smuggler

I've read it now so I'll post up my thoughts.
Dredd- "Tour of Duty - Pink Eyes part 4". Building nicely. Not a great deal happening in this episode and I'm starting to despise the artwork.

Necrophim Part 8. I'm just starting to get into this. Feel like I need to go back and re-read the previous 7 episodes though as it all seems a bit bonkers to me.

Slaine "The Smuggler". Nice art although I'm generally not a fan of photo art but in this episode it's used to a good effect.
Good ending to the episode as Ukko as a donkey
Terror Tales "Seeing Things". Poor art and a pretty basic story means this win the wooden spoon award for the issue.

Sinister & Dexter "Better The Devil Ye Know part 2". I've always liked S&D and although it's only in the 2nd episode it's shaping up nicely. In terms of art and story this is my fave of the prog this week.

Overall a 6/10.

No letters page.  :(

These boxes have been out in the States for sometime.
Good to see that they are now being stocked by UK comic shops.

Just finished reading issue #260 "The Long Crap Friday".
Brilliant stuff. Art and writing top notch.

Looks good, and it's got Pete Postlethwaite in it. Always a guarantee of quality.

I'll see your Aeon Flux (actually no, I won't) and raise you one Dragonheart.

I'll raise you a "Jurassic Park II: The Lost World".

Don't you worry, Matt.

Keep writing them, Tharg'll keep printing them.  x

I hate those letters that start: 'I have been reading since prog 1..' and go on pretty much predictably from there. The other kind is the letter that suspiciously allows Tharg to plug some feature of the website or new range of graphic novels. I want to read harsh, cold, criticism! There's too many uncritical, blindly loyal fans out there...

Dredd was a corker this month. Had an old skool feel about it.
Tales from the Black Museum was good as was, surprisingly, Tank Girl.
Not into Bato Loco at the moment but i enjoyed the piece on comic licences.
The movie reviews continue to be the black sheep of the family.
Best yet, Meg 292 will contain a Rogue Trooper G/N.
Happy days.

Haven't had a second post for about 20 years!

Haven't delved yet. I'll save it for my usual Saturday routine.  :P

And on a similar note, how do people store their progs?
Just the usual boring way I'm afraid. Stored in 2000ad long boxes, each issue bagged and boarded and the whole lot takes up a rather large corner of my home office.

The annuals and trades are on a bookshelf.

Gotta say, I'm not buying the satellite argument fellas (and that's not because i want to believe, I'm just being objective). So here are the facts again: I reckon it crossed the sky in about 15-20 seconds (I tracked it from just after it was directly overhead until it was about halfway to the horizon, and watched it for probably 5-6 seconds), it was a small pale white light, it didn't flash, there was absolutely no sound, and I had the impression it was flying fairly low (simply because of the speed).

Sounds just like a satellite.
