Ooh - an art submission thread. Here's my feeble effort:

Shiny, sparkly goodness. Give them droids some nano seconds downtime as a reward.

I wonder if the dark foreground of the first combined with the colour scheme of the edited version might have worked better, but otherwise, the edited version is a million times better. That purple is terrible....

Prog / Re: Prog 1741: Block Down

So this is only the second Prog to fall through my letterbox. My yearly sub started with #1740. The last time I was a regular reader must be about 20 years ago and the only strip I can remember from that time was Ace Trucking so this is pretty much a noobs perspectve:

Loved the cover, The limited colour scheme and raw sketchy style are really eye catching.

Dredd: No idea what PJ Maybe was up to in earlier stories, but I'm already hooked on this. Can't wait for more

SinDex: Is certainly thrill packed but I've no idea who these guys are or the history behind them and I sense it might make more sense if I was up to speed on their past exploits. As a noob, probably the weakest in the prog, but only because it leaves me wondering what it's all about.

Savage: Brilliantly drawn can't wait for more

3rillers: getting into it now but not a huge fan of the art style

Zombo: this is the brilliant and the standout piece in a strong prog. What twisted mind came up with the Zombo character? Really funny. Can't wait for next week

All in All better than last weeks for me and Mega pleased I got my sub  :)

ps: the letters page is bonkers

Hey guys,

Thanks for the info. Just got myself an annual subscription to the prog. Mega excited. Anyone know how long I need to wait before my first pack of thrills drop through the letterbox?

Hi,

Last time I read 2000AD was in 1988. I've been stuck in a vortex since then and only just returned to reality. I've bought me some casefiles to do some catching up.

But I have a question:

Could someone explain the difference between the weekly comic and the megazine? I get that the latter is a monthly and fatter, but do they run different stories? Is there crossover between the weekly and monthly. If you could only get one, which would you recommend.

Cheers
