Yep, loving the prog at the moment, apart from the dull Black Sun.

The Dreddverse triple is awesome and I can't wait to see where its all going..... and seeing Ro-Jaws and Hammerstein together again brought a big smile to my chops. Cool.

A timely reprint, and updating of, the superb 'The Story of a Violent Comic' by Martin Barker wouldnt go amiss.

Indeed. That was going on my Christmas list until I saw how much it was going for on Amazon!

It could of course be referring to a disaster on the 7th of July in our future.......

*Yes, New Model Army fans -- that Moose Harris.

Oh really... the guy who replaced the awesome Stuart Morrow?

I didn't know that!

From bitter experience I can confirm it was far too shiny to be used for that purpose.....

Oh indeed, there's nothing quite like the fun of collecting comics bit by bit and I did that with the first 85 issues of 2000ad and many of the Tornados.

I also pick up as many copies of Monster Fun, Krazy, Warlord, Victor, Shiver & Shake and any other British comics as I can get and I'd love to get all of the issues of Action (I think I have the first couple and an annual) but simply to read and enjoy, these digital copies are a good interim option. They are not exactly guilt-free but they do take up a lot less space, which pleases 'er indoors!

Of course the seller is making money from something he or she does not have the rights to, but just look at the amount of old films available on Ebay, ostensibly in the 'Public Domain' in particular Will Hay & George Formby films. It is not right, its illegal and the quality of them is awful but I suppose caveat emptor applies.

I'm really enjoying the series, much more than I expected to.

Yes, there are a few moments where the jokes fall a little but ever line doesn't have to be a zinger.

Its still the best sit-com on tv since.....erm, the last series of Not Going Out IMHO.

Looks like its not on the Christmas list then, but it'll be nice to have something to look forward to.

Does anyone remember how long it took the Stallone version to come out on VHS?...it was a looooong time, it must have been a year or more. I thought that was very odd.

ABCDEFGH... - Did I miss a prog about how that Stenhammer be statue?

I was a bit confused too, so I re read prog 1804 and it is all in here (the war memorial, the white paint and the deactivation).

Yep, another one confuddled here. It wasn't made very clear what was happening though. Just a mention from 'Stein as to what would happen and then the final panel.

Still enjoying the story though.

Saw this again, when i popped on E-bay earlier, and s/he's still going strong.
Just about every other UK comic apart from 2000ad, is on offer.
No 80's Eagles, im afraid, Joe, but what looks to be every issue from its original run, is available.

Has anyone ever seen what these are like? Pretty shitty, or are they suprisingly decent?

Ermm, I hear tell that they are excellent. Very good copies indeed and well scanned. On an 8" tablet using Cool Reader they read very well. (Although the classic Eagles, are a little small so zooming is required)......apparently.

I am sure if they were properly commercially available they would sell like the proverbial hot cakes but this chap/lady/gronk has made them available and they're selling because how else could someone read these comics?

The first 37 issues of Action can be read for free online. I shan't post a link in case it infringes any copyright, which it probably does.

Saw it last night......utterly brilliant. Urban is perfect as Dredd, Thirlby was a revelation and the film just keeps on going and getting better. Everything I could have hoped for in a Dredd movie....so far.

Fave bit -
Dredd retreating into the smoke after throwing one Ma ma's henchmen over the balcony. Pure Dreddiness.
Now, roll on the Blu Ray and some sequels please!

(BTW this is the first time I have seen a 3D movie and I won't be rushing to see another. Its a gimmick. The effects were very impressive and the 3D made it slightly more immersive but my eyes still ache and I think anything longer than 90mins and I'd have had enough.)

Prog / Re: Prog 1791: The End

The ending to Nikolai Dante was superb. Russian roulette....of course, so obvious but yet a stroke of genius. The old rogue will be missed. Bojemoi!

And, ridiculous thruppeny bits aside, I loved the Tom Lehrer pastiche in Dredd.

Ichabod is building into a nice little story and I love the artwork.

Ain't fussed about 1947 of Future Shocks in this issue.
