General / nikolai dante - can anyone help?
22 August, 2010, 11:08:43 PM

Okay, I know nothing about nikolai dante, and I'm lookin for the best graphic novel/collection of his to start with. So I'm not totally lost, can any of y'all fine people (with all your know how and all) give me a bit of a helping hand? It'd be much appreciated

She's no Klaus Kinski, but I'd like to see her in the uniform. Maybe Pammy would be better, everytime I think of Anderson, I think peroxide, silicone and Hepatitis -  ;)Bang on!

Sereously tho, I just think unknowns all the way.

I see Anderson as more your Scarlett Johansson stock

That dull?
Looks wise, totally. I don't know anything about her personally, but she could learn lines, and act - Job done

She was a plank of wood in Iron Man II
I've not seen it. She's good in Ghost World.

I had a massive argument with my then girlfriend outside the cinema cos I was angry and she thought it was good. We split up shortly after.

I noo you'd say that ... Fuck off !!!
:lol:Good on you, passions what you had, ands it's totally what that film lacked.

Hmm. So the rumours were true. Let's hope that 1) it gets to production, and; 2) it's not utter bollocks.
I'd like to 2nd that. I remember seeing the original when I was like 14 or something, and I couldnt even finish watching it. I remember thining "How the f*** have they managed to mess this up so badly? How have they changed it so much? And Why?"

Also, for me, Dredd don't take his helmet off

:o I dont know if this is bad or good, but I've just spent the best part of £200 on amazon getting back into the fold. The addiction starts here.

Blimey, I almost feel guilty, almost. It is buried under the warm glow of Spreading the Word.

Its a deal, as long as you tell us what you think after you've read those (the general 2000AD review forum probably has a thread on most titles/collections by now (partly down to Colin's fine work) so you should be able to find somewhere to throw in your thoughts - the opinions of The Returned is always worth soliciting as they may have a different perspective on the stories than those who grimly hung on in there during the Bad Times.

I'll 100% do that sir, it'd be a pleasure. I'm proper excited about seeing the postman, which hasnt happened for a long old while  :P

I'd echo what Cosh and others have said Dante is one of the best things to have ever appeared in 2000ad and well worth checking out as its easy available in trade (volume 3 may appear elusive but they still have some in the 2000ad online shop apparently but I'd grab one quick). Its brillant.

Total War is also a recent Dredd epic that's well worth a look as will the 'Tour of Duty' books now they have started to roll out (with I'd guess a couple more to come?)

Also if you like Indigo Prime and Delvin Waugh (did I imagine that or was it some else who said it?) why not check out Leatherjack by John Smith as well... well anything you can get your hands on by John Smith really!

What ever you decide to welcome aboard and have fun.

I did say that, loved Prime (esp Killing Time) and Devlin. Are there any compilations out there? Or will I have to track down back issues?

Also, big thank you for giving me a warm welcome on here
