Misery...?

Dead Zone also. I watched three months ago and it stands up, not least due to the two central performances.

A question for all owners of Apex Editions.

Where do you keep them?

My finger has hovered over the buy button for the McMahon book and the Steve Dillon edition looks beautiful, but jee-zus they are big. I don't have a shelf nearly tall enough to store anything like that and all potential 'coffee table' real estate is taken up by the other half's books on CoCo Chanel, YSL and the like.

Quote from: The Corinthian on 20 September, 2023, 11:45:14 PM2000AD and Battle in 1982 would have had skiffy spins on 'Truck Turpin' and 'The Fists of Jimmy Chang' not 'Dredger'.

Grab a copy of The Meg - Jimmy makes quite a significant appearance.

I was hoping the prisoners in the cages would turn out to be Constanta and his Fiends. But happy with how this panned out.

Quote from: GordonR on 20 September, 2023, 08:34:51 AMThen you've not been paying attention.

very true, not been on my radar for a long time.

Quote from: GordonR on 20 September, 2023, 08:34:51 AMAnd, let's say, you were a devious and manipulative narcissist who knew you had done a bunch of nasty shit that was going to catch up with you one day? Well, that market comes ready with a mass of rubes and apologists who'll come charging out at the first mention of MeToo or 'cancel culture' to defend you.

Similar allegations made in 2015 and at that time the likes of Marina Hyde, James O Brian and Charlie Brooker came riding to his defense. Partisan bias going both ways.

Damn, that was a good prog. Every single strip sung.

What are the chances of a Battle Action Tooth prog every quarter or six months a la Regened? Too many plates to keep spinning I imagine but I'd love to see follow ups to every one of these stories.

Special shout out to the Tharg Nerve Centre framing device that topped and tailed the prog. A succinct and clever explainer.

Temperature has risen in here a bit so I'm reluctant to post this but...

Quote from: Funt Solo [R] on 17 September, 2023, 01:22:14 AMRussell Brand - right-wing propagandist

Brand was a big draw at both Occupy New York and Occupy Westminster; led the New Era protests; endorsed (and interviewed) Ed Milliband in 2015; was courted by Billy Bragg; described as a hero of the year by George Monbiot; welcomed Corbyn's election as Labour leader; "Marx was a great economist; Communism wasn't done properly" on Joe Rogan; "Socialism's historical connection with spiritual principles is deep" in the New Statesman; front cover blurb for Owen Jones' book The Establishment; and was until a few days ago, set to be a contributor to Corbyn and McClusky's upcoming poetry book.

Not sure I'd call him a right winger

Quote from: AlexF on 08 September, 2023, 09:43:33 AMwhy do the librarians not allow digital access with a built-in time limit?

Fun, related fact : in 2000 Blockbuster was pulling in $800 million in lates fees per year. This became an integral part of their business plan and blinded them to the utility of the Netflix model of keeping your DVD as long as you wanted.

Re-read The Small House this morning.

Then a few hours later, while scrolling through military OSINT accounts on Twitter, this popped up; Dutch Marines showcasing their latest tech.

Wondering if they can also walk through walls

Well, Cohen DID cover Wham's I'm Your Man. Was this the B side? :)

Utkin was the guy that led the late June thunder run to Moscow; Progozhin choosing to remain in Rostov.

A grim character, his tattoos single-handedly giving the lie to Putin's justifying claims of de-nazifying Ukraine.
