[Inverurie Comic Con]

Looking at the organisers' page (Big Glasgow Comic Con) I see the date is now just 'TBA', so obviously they've been told there's no guaranteed re-opening date for the venue yet.

Looking at the page, they've got plenty of other regional Scottish events listed.  How about a trip doom the water to Dunoon, or the exotic climes of Rutherglen?

I take it Inverurie Comic Con is off your 'to do' list then...

Going to break my own abstention rule and vote on this one. I like a lot of both of their stuff- Pat has a huge amount of good stuff but very often his dialogue makes me cringe and he has written some pretty gash stuff too. Grant doesn't have such an extensive body of solo work, but he has Anderson and Ace Trucking.

I like 'Death Aid'. There are a couple of other Ennis Dredd yarns I think are okay as well. Not a vote for Ennis or anything- I also like a lot of Morrison's output too.

This PROVES City of the Damned wins everything.
It's now beyond all doubt.

Not sure about stripping art down to line art that was intended for colour, it's not really the same art art that was created to be B&W. But I love that there's still room in 2K/ The Meg for black & white.

Actually, I might abstain altogether- at the risk of being burned for heresy, I just can't judge 'story' separate from art. By and large, if I don't like the art I don't like the story and exceptional art can make a basic story very enjoyable. The things that stick in my mind to make stories memorable are overwhelmingly images rather than the words.
There will always be exceptions- "because I hate you", "And he didn't think it too many", "I'm too cool to kill", "I knew you'd say that"... no wait... not that one.
American Reaper, Shakara, pretty much any of Fleisher's 2k output all had good art but were just boring and I lost interest.

Hell, I even enjoyed Purgatory/ Inferno- big, dumb, fun ideas cut from the same cloth as early Dredd epics. It has the freewheeling aroma of 'enjoyment of doing' about it and it had great art- I enjoy that far more than some convoluted, tightly-plotted, boring-ass story with art I dislike.
Ace Trucking Co should not have worked and probably wouldn't have with any other artist at the time, except (perhaps) Ian Gibson. But it was great and it was Belardinelli's art that made the goofiness of it work.

It doesn't have to make sense, taste is emotive.
There is no reason why I like green and dislike celery, I just do- so I'll probably just watch and shout abuse at the linesman from the sidelines, then scoff at the outcome regardless of what it is.

On that basis, put me down for City of the Damned ftw as well.

Little known fact : I used to live in Perth way back in the '80's.
Was run out of town..
Was told if I ever show my face or step foot in the place again unmentionable things would happen to my backside.
So it's a NO from me, think I'll try Shrewsbury instead.
