Sophie Scholl and her brother were guillotined for handing out leaflets saying the Nazis weren't very nice people. If I knew anything about Jedis I would keep my mouth shut.

I was thinking it might be a better idea to wait until the cartoon series one day finishes, and watch it afterwards. It is the final chapter after all and the cartoon is what Star Wars is to the boy. In fact The Clone Wars followed by the original trilogy is a pretty compelling watchathon in itself, the prequels are starting to feel like they're the spinoff, if you know what I mean.

And yeah it's too bloody violent for him. We'll stick to Little Charley Bear.

Dilemma. I've seen the original three hundreds of times, Phantom Menace and Attack of The Clones dozens of times, but I've only seen Sith once. I thought I was over Star Wars and I hadn't actually watched any of the films for over five years until I watched Clones with the boy last weekend. We've been enjoying The Clone Wars cartoon an awful lot, so much in fact that it's got me back into Star Wars again quite a bit.
I'm quite excited to watch the original trilogy with the boy and hope they mean as much to him as they meant to me. But I just dunno if watching Sith is a good idea at the minute. I really did hate it at the time. We shall see...

I'll let you know Stevie, if the swine ever turns up! In the meantime I'm reading Alastair Reynolds' Revelation Space, thanks to the generosity of our Enigmatic Dr X. Enjoying it so far, intrigued why all these people are a bit French...

Jebus...  :o
It makes B.L.A.I.R. 1 look like King Lear. Even I wouldn't buy that, and I own 29 issues of Tarot  :D

Waiting on the postie for John Wyndham's Plan For Chaos, finally out in paperback and not the 60 quid university edition. It's an unpublished novel that he wrote at the same time he was writing Day of The Triffids. Supposedly it's not great, but it has clone Nazis in it so I don't see how. I'm really quite excited.

I love it...especially like the part with the kids doing their bit by crushing the cockroaches

They're doing their bit :)

That scene was the first thing I thought of during the whole Freedom Fries/ pouring French wine down the drain episode. I wonder if Dick Cheney has seen Starship Troopers?

Every time I watch the Clone Wars cartoon and that announcer tells you what happened in the previous episode, I'm convinced he's gonna say "Would you like to know more?"

Boy Jones, Ol' Dirty Bastard's son. His repertoire so far is mostly how great his Dad was, but he's still young and he's got a big future ahead of him. He's just been on tour with the Wu-Tang Clan and inevitably is also getting called Young Dirty Bastard :)

EDIT He's not quite fictional though  :-[

And another shout for Besson's Le Dernier Combat. I saw it once on late night telly and the imagery really stuck with me. Great film.
