I never really pay attention to prog numbers. The above just called something out to me. I bought 2000AD on and off in the early 90s (my mam would never let me 'officially' buy it weekly as she thought it was too violent :()

So I eventually started getting it weekly at prog 950 - used the whole Judge Dredd film as a selling point to her to show it wasn't as violent as she thought :D.

Anyway, I digress, prog 950 was something of a 'jumping on point' from what I remember. It was for me anyway!

In 25 progs, that's half of 2000AD's lifespan ago. Which seems bizarre to me, as I still feel like an absolute noob for not having read it in the 80s.

I knew you were kidding about the free stuff! Had you worried though, right!

Ah, I know your game. You're pretending you didn't think there was free art in an aim to dupe us all into giving you free art.

All depends what compliments the art really. Black mounting but with a white boarder can look really well.

Holy Jaysus Dale! I knew you had all those Sonic covers, but didn't know you had internal pages too! That's some collection.

I'd also be interested in one if they ever come up for sale :)

Please feel free to laugh and point, as I know nothing about Nemesis, but o1s1n is that Deadlock after the Nemesis picture you put up? Anyway, whoever it is it's a cracking picture!

Yep, it's Nemesis pooping out Deadlock  :D

Done a little bit of research into this and looks like it may be worthwhile - about £350 for 30 metres of film that blocks 99% of UV

I do remember reading that it has a slightly greenish tint to it. So would be worth buying a small tester bit first just to see if you're happy with the results. :)

Was digging through artwork and found a few pieces I hadn't photographed properly.

Uploaded this previously, but the photo didn't do it justice. It's a great image.

Mark Harrsion.

Been after a Will Simpson drawing for ages. This is the best I've been able to find for the moment!

Signed JH print

Another JH print, unfortunately unsigned

Nice signed JH Torquemada convention sketch. Probably the only drawing you'll ever see of his without any tipex :D

Yep, I'm with you on that o1s1n..............Mine's is 15 - 20 years old and still undamaged....Get it framed and 'on display'........

Sorry to hear about your cel artwork deteriorating like that........I didn't know it was as 'fragile' as that...... :'(
Is there no 'uv protected / resistant' glass that is available, so that Cels can be displayed ???.....If not,  then an art folder is the only way in that case....
Cheers

Yeah I did look into UV protective glass a few years back, it works to a degree, but won't stop the fading 100%. I keep them all in acid free bags (open at one end to let the gasses circulate) and in Itoya A4 art folders. The Itoya folders are great, the only down side to them is you can't get them over here - only in the US! So they get a bit expensive with the postage on top. Definitely worth the investment though.

Just on the note of gasses, for those with framed artwork, it's good to 'air them out' now and again. Open it up and let gasses out.

If art is done in markers it will fade whether you have it in light or not :-(

It's awful alright isn't it? The top panel in my first JH page has almost totally vanished. I think it was a combination of felt tip marker and water based ink.

Other pages aren't as bad thankfully :)

Just make sure the artwork is out of sunlight, it's framed properly (art not touching the glass and on acid free backing) and not in a humid room - it'll be fine.

If you think comic art is something to worry about degrading, try collecting animation cels! They'd break your heart. I really can't bring myself to display any on the walls as the trace lines (photocopied onto acetate) vanish incredibly easy. Have bought a few on ebay over the years where the trace line fade wasn't visible in the auction.

When I got the cel in my hands, someone clearly had it on the wall for years - no trace lines and the image basically looks like a load of coloured mud :( - completely destroyed piece of art.

Actually it only happened to me recently enough. Got a full refund, but it still doesn't take away from the horror of seeing art destroyed.  :(

That is unbelievably good! I really love seeing all the prelims to these. Lovely to see how Carlos composes his work.

How does someone go about contacting him to have one of these commissions put together? Must start saving the euros!
