Thanks for the comments guys.

I'm not too concerned with the pose for now, he's fully poseable, this was one I chose to render.
There really is plenty still to do, his face is pretty basic right now, then there's the detailing to the pockets, gloves, pads, belt and boots.  I'm going to rework the body to possibly pick out the muscles a bit more.  Oh, and the zipper and chain.

I'll update here as I go.

Yeah, the materials are preliminary as is just about everything at the moment.  Hopefully I'll avoid it looking too CG when done.

It's all done in 3ds Max.

hehe.. it's true.  Maybe I'll stick a pint glass in there until I get round to the lawgiver...

Hi Steve, yeah thanks for that.  It's actually how I found this thread, I noticed on my webstats there were quite a lot of people visiting from here, so I came by to see what was going on.

I've had a bit of a problem with the monocle, something that works well in 2D doesn't always work in 3D.  My Kano has quite deep set eyes and a protruding brow.  Because of this the monocle seems to sit way off his face.   There's no real way around it, so I might have to excercise a bit of artistic license...

If there was ever a comic that didn't want to be made into a movie then Watchmen is it.
The Watchmen *needs* to be in comic format to work - that's it's strength...  (and it so needs to be in 12 parts)
It's like writing a novel of a Tom and Jerry cartoon - "Cat trips on mat, cat falls over, iron lands on cats head" doesn't really survive the translation..

I'd love to do a cover... hint hint... ;)

These pics were done last month, I was working on getting a painterly look, something which I think I've achieved to a varying degree with pics like the Jonnhy Alpha one.
