Aliens, yes, yes!! I used to be able to quote virtually the whole script. I could have conversations with my mate entirely in Aliens dialogue. Cool, ha? :-)

Ahem. Anyway...

Shelbyvillean:"Climb in here? You must be stupider than you look."

Homer:"Stupider like a fox.......Yaaaarrrghhhhh"

and

Shop Owner: "The doll is cursed"

Homer: "That's bad"

Shop Owner:"But it does come with a free froghurt!"

Homer:"That's good"

Shop Owner: "The froghurt is also cursed"

Homer:"That's bad"

Shop Owner:"But it comes with these free sprinkles"

Homer:"That's good"

Shop Owner:"The sprinkles contain potassium benzoate!"

Homer:....

Shop Owner:"That's bad.."

Homer:"Can I go now?"

"Is Jabba the princess?"

and

Daisy: "You want to waggle your willy on her chin?"

Tires: "Don't come that post-feminist art school bollocks with me, sunflower, if that is your real name"

"Ya damn Wookie. In space we speak English. With an American accent" - some American standup.

"Assumption is the mother of all fuckups" - Under Siege

"The car is on fire but there is no driver at the wheel. The sewers are all muddied with a thousand lonely suicides and a dark wind blows....We are all trapped in the belly of this horrible machine and the machine is bleeding to death." - the Dead Flag Blues by Godspeed You! Black Emperor. Even though it is utterly pretentious it still sends a shiver down my spine whenever I listen to it. GY!BE = greatest band of all time. No hyperbole ;o)

"This is my boomstick!"

"Oh my G-O-Double-D; it's the D-O-Double-G" - Snoop Dogg

Some of those are paraphrases: hey I'm too lazy to check! Um I'll think of more later.

Help! / Re: Who are you?

Hi I'm the sweaty one.

I too am a newbie, but don't post that often(spend a lot of time lurking though)

I only started collecting in the last couple of months, though I meant to for a while. Just recently bought 500 or so back progs off ebay and I am spending most of my time catching up!

Favourites Nemesis, ABC Warriors, classic Rogue Trooper(didn't it get poor though!?!?), Halo Jones and Bad Company.

Oh and if anyone can explain to me what the hell Slaine is about it'd be much appreciated :-).

Don't get me wrong I enjoy the odd bit of manga(I love the Akira GNs), but I just don't think it would look right to "mangafy" any 2000ad characters. It seems that western comics are rife with manga style spinoffs(I saw a sandman manga spinoff the other for chrissake. As far as I could tell the script was identical!) Most of it just seems to be the big breasted scantily clad womem style manga, and Id hate to see that in the tooth(no really!!).

I dont think Rebellion have to stoop to such levels to win new fanbase. There is no need to jump on the bandwagon. There is plenty of manga stuff out there without needing it all over 2000ad as well.

If its pish then definitely not. At ?40 a pop I cant afford to waste my money. If its average then I'll hire it or wait till I can get it second hand. Simple as really.

Special editions?! Hmm kind of defeats the point, but I'll allow it I guess.

Id take Watchmen btw(I realised I hadnt answered the question myself hehe). As was said it takes ages to read and so would keep you occupied, especially with all those hyperdetailed panels to gaze at and decipher.

Ive got 2-6, but not no. 1. Which is a bit weird I know, but 4-6 were on offer so I bought them in reverse. Plus I had watched the film so I figured it would make sense. I enjoyed Akira(the comic that is), but I think it is rather long. It is great if you love mass destruction and genocide though. Must have the highest number of fatalities per page of any comic ever.

Watchmen is a must have. I've only read the first seven Sandman books, and they are a little patchy, though they get better as they go on. Book 3 I didnt enjoy at all as it is just odd stories. Book 4 is probly my current fave.
