I have three pics here, none of which match your description, though one does feature the ring of stars in the design:
I mean, all those panels appeared in the comic in the decade following Dark Jimbo's post so he was probably unaware of them at the time :D
welcome aboard.

Phew, I took the risk of not changing my delivery address with Hachette during lockdown, as they were bound to fudge something up, and rely on the postal service handling the books till our office reopened. 10 books waiting for me today

Has to be Dabnett for me. I loved Nemesis back in the day but other than Savage (and not always Savage) Pat's recent work does nothing for me I'm afraid. Abnett is constantly inventive, witty and fun to read. Uncle Pat isn't any more.

They tried to usurp Tharg in a way Joko Jargo hasn't even thought of yet. No wonder he's grumpy about their largely forgettable contribution

Mine arrived this morning. I can finally look at retiring my folder of old look and learn clippings. The second vol HB isn't available for pre-order yet is it? I'm going to get paranoid about missing it

I'm so in. I've got a folder of pages cut from Look and Learn I've had for decades I can finally retire. The stories are very much of their time and its very similar to Dan Dare in that aspect if not genre. The art elevates it well above where it would be otherwise though. Every page is a joy.

also surely he'll be creaming off a healthy slice from those tempted in to subbing as a _lot_ of the collection contains his work

Is this the first money Pat has ever received from his work on the Horned God then, or is he just unhappy with the latest paycheck. Lets face it, its a book most people have a couple of copies already since the last 30 years its been in print.

I'd love to see it extended, its a rich vein to mine, it would also help dilute the amount of Slaine, which for its highs soars so very high but spends a lot of time in the mire of 'its a bit shit'
