News / Re: 2000AD Cover of the Year - THE RESULT!
03 January, 2012, 10:55:50 AM
Thanks for running this Pete and for the covers blog.
2 of my votes were in the top 3 and D'Isreali is very a worthy winner.

Happy New Year to all the community members & Squax everywhere  :D

General / Re: VOTE FOR THE 2011 COVER OF THE YEAR!
12 December, 2011, 09:13:20 AM
As everyone has already said there have been some amazing covers this year. So a real tough choice but these are my top 3

No 1: 1752 - D'Israeli
No 2: 1727 - Henry Flint
No 3: 1745 - Neil Roberts

Plus I have to give honorable mentions to these 3 which were so close that if I don't hit post now I will probably change my mind again ;)

1746 - Henry Flint
1725 - Henry Flint
1724 - Liam Sharp

Film Discussion / Re: The language of Dredd

There has got to be some Drokk's in it for Grud's sake

I have only seen a couple of stills so far. Going from those, whilst the uniform doesn't look like your classic Dredd, I personally think it strikes the right balance between the classic look and a more practical riot police look.

Can't really tell enough to have an opinion one way or another from the shot of the Law Master. The wheels certainly looked chunky enough and the machine guns looked cool but you can't tell much else due to the angle of the shot. So, I'm going to keep an open mind until I have at least seen a trailer.

From what I hear John Wagner is happy, so that's good enough for me  :o

Announcements / Re: Cheap Thrills!
11 February, 2011, 12:03:28 PM
I bagged myself some cheap thrills at the SFX weekender  ;)

No, not that kind. I was there with my wife and kids  :)

But thanks to the guys on the 2000AD stand, I now have some awesome new 2000AD T-Shirts and at a very wallet friendly price  :D

News / Re: Digital download progs in 2000AD shop
11 February, 2011, 11:42:34 AM
Apologies if I have missed it but do we know if there are any plans to release earlier progs digitally?

I think the digital ones currently start at Prog 1600

I have hard copies of pretty much all of them from Prog 300 onwards but do have some gaps and filling those with originals would be very pricey. So digital copies of the missing ones, especially Progs 1 - 100 would be very cool  :o

News / Re: The Megacast 3 - PJ Holden Interview

Good stuff, PJ doesn't take much prompting does he :)

Thanks for the PJ ? Leigh G hybrid image. Need to clean my brain now

I met Bryan Talbot at SFX weekender last weekend. Lovely bloke, but I'm sure he would hunt PJ down with some kind of huge steam punk cannon if he heard his (aledgedly quoted out of context) "wasted his life" comment  ;)

Welcome to the board / Hello
11 February, 2011, 11:01:30 AM
Hello All,
I have been a 2000AD reader since around 1980, when I used to read my cousins prog's and collecting my own since 1983 (prog 300 odd).

Up until now, I hadn't joined the forum but I have just had to move my entire collection due to a loft conversion (and obviously had to flick through them to make sure they were still in good condition and in order  ;)). That was quickly followed by attending the SFX weekender and meeting lots of 2000AD creators and fans.

Although already a big fan of all things 2000AD, the combination of those inspired me to join up and talk to other fans.
