Thanks, one of the things I enjoy about art in general is the little details. I have a tendency to overdo them then pair it back, which means generally putting more time into things then I need to. My plan with this is to make a very VERY short game for the advent calendar. I find it easier to learn something, like pixel art ang game creation, if I have a goal in mind.

Dredd now draws his gun and shoots. I've not put the holster in yet so the gun appears by magic at the moment.

I've started doing a new, slightly larger Dredd. still testing the pixel water. this time i started with Dredd impatiently checking his headset and shaking his head.

I added a little muzzle flash and put the top of his helmet back on. I was just looking at the files and wondering how on earth I managed to get an animation out of the deranged mess that was my working 'method' pretty much every element was worked on individually with each body part starting as a separate file before being pinned together. I think I thought I would be able to re-use and customise the elements but that just turned out to be a lot of work that made things harder rather than easier.

VERY nicely done, Steven!

Thanks, I had to look up 'mugen'. doing the graphics for something like that would take a while but probably no longer than it takes to do 10 pages of comics for a seasoned animator. A committed team could do it relatively easily.

I'm just feeling my way into the basics at the moment but I'm really happy with the way this little animation turned out.

for some reason i can see it on my laptop and desktop but not my phone.
