Off Topic / So I bought a Subscription...
11 January, 2013, 01:38:08 AM
Got myself a christmas/Being-Employedmas present- A 2000AD subscription!

You guys, I hadn't realised what a wonderful thing this is  :o

Theres something so exciting about getting stuff in the post, every week, before the prog even exists to the rest of the world. Not only that, but there's something beautifully luxuriant about getting lots of comics and pretending it's all free :P

To give this thread a purpose, discuss proglove and sublove here, I guess

(Not that kind of sublove! Well, mayube that kind too if you like...)

Books & Comics / Achewood

Are any of you lot fans of Achewood? It's a webcomic (www.achewood.com) that's not been updated in about a year, and is substantially different fodder to what's usually read and discussed around here, but I have an abiding love for it.

For those who don't know, it's a story about a bunch of cats, a retarded otter, two bears, and a drunken tiger, and their dysfunctions. The humour is odd yet incredible, the writing is idiomatic and addictive, and once you get into it, the story arcs are not only excellently written, but also so beautifully integrated that it's hard to believe that one man wrote it all, not to mention 7 in-character blogs, a cookbook, and in-universe 'zines.

General / Gentlemen. And Ladies. And Roger.

A potentially silly question here, but is it possible to subscribe to the Prog digitally? And if so, what formats/tablet support is there?

I'm giving strong consideration to both subscribing and getting the next version of the Kindle Fire, so if both can be combined in a happy, treesaving package, I'd be delighted.

How are ye chaps :)

My name's Aonghus (as is my screenname; I'm going through a bit of a literal phase these days). I'm a male-type person, Irish, a long-time lurker, and intermittent Prog reader since about 1336, having renewed my vows to Tharg this year. I'm looking forward to wasting many happy hours here!
