General / 2000ad - Arthur Ranson

Hi, sorry if this is a bit random but i wanted to post it. Its a bit rambling but stay with me.. hope i am not breaching any unspoken rules by writing this, if so ..that was not my intention at all..its just a cool little story..

Although i haven't kept up to date in the last 7 years or so, when i was younger i was a big 2000ad fan.. i was brought up with Nemesis, ABC warriors etc. I once had a picture printed on the letters page when i was little ( 'patchwork gideon' )and i got sent a cool mug which lasted ages until my twin brother accidentally destroyed it  - i kept hoping i would wake up to a world where ABC Warriors and Nemesis are being made into films..  anyway...

Although i loved all the artwork on everything..my favourite artist by far was Arthur Ranson..cos i thought Button Man was the coolest thing ever. i used to sit for hours trying to copy his drawings and marvelling at them. I loved Arthur Ranson's work on Judge Anderson too.. to me - he was the man - i always placed Ranson and David Mazzuchelli as my favourite comic artists back then.. anyway...moving on..i got a bit older, left home etc ..  ( to do graphics and art - in no small part due to my worship of 2000ad and the effect mr ransom's art had on me.. im sure he was one of my biggest catalysts to do what im doing now) I ended up all over the place and finally years later have settled back in London, my early comics obsession now a distant light. I've just recently moved into a little house in London with my family - i love it, its awesome, im a happy dude.  Now...

neighbours have told me an illustrator used to live in my house, a really nice guy ... - who drew pictures for their children sometimes some years back.. the name - Arthur Ranson .. !!!!!! when i heard this i totally freaked out.. half fanboy geek seizure and half a pure life affirming glow of how random nice things can still happen. ...  :)   dunno if anyone cares..but the reason i wanted to post this was to ask if anyone at 2000ad can give me any way of contacting mr Ranson, or forwarding this little post to him. I would be very interested in asking if he sells any prints etc..for fans of his work..especially this one who seems to be living in his old house.. sounds weird i know...but i thought he might dig this and like this story. Mr Ranson, 2000ad, you rock..I thank you.
