General / Clickwheel troubles
02 May, 2010, 09:38:25 PM
Lacking space for the dead tree edition of tooth, I'm reduced to a monthly subscription of the e-edition through Clickwheel and I've been getting my progs in this fashion since August.

Since about March, the service has been a complete nightmare - fortnightly gaps between progs being made available and now, after my subscription had just renewed, I go to the site to discover my subscription has "expired".

20th of April I email their support and they give me the "Thrill suckers on the power lines, we'll update you soon" chat I've been given for all of the increasingly common service issues. I've emailed twice since - nothing in reply.

Anyone else a customer or having trouble? I don't wan't to cancel as it's the only way I can get my progs; plus they owe me four issues paid for but not received. i can't get anyone there to respond. Any suggestions?

Anyone got their mits on this yet? I've available through clickwheel for £1.50 and just wondered if the stories therein are completely scrotnig or not.

Hello all,

I made a return to Squaxx-dom recently with Prog #1650 and there's no looking back.

But I used to pick up the Meg too. My memories are mixed from some quality, slightly grittier stories with the odd bit of dross. I Remember Dredd was awesome (of course) and I remember liking Hershey, but there was some forgettable stories that I've well..forgotten.

I'm curious but would like some advice - Should I bother with the Meg again? If so, when's the best time to start (hate coming in part way through stories)?

Cheers!

General / Tryng to find a series
11 September, 2009, 10:43:29 PM
Hello,

Some time ago, maybe 17-19 years, I bought a copy of "Classic 2000AD" which contained a complete mini series that absolutely blew me away. Whether a 9-10 year old me was a good judge of scrotnig content, is debatable but I've always wondered exactly what story it was.

I only remember a few details and one hunch. I think it may have been a future shock, but that's a guess. I also think it may have been called "Life Cycle", but wholly unrelated it would seem to the on off in 1995' winter special.

The only other details i remember is that it concerned alien like beings living on their Utopian home world in immortality. They were humanoid, naked and had mini tentacles instead of hair. I seme to remember one murdered another, a hitherto unknown concept, and the murderer was exiled. That's it.

A friend of mine at the time pulled this mag out of my desk one lunch time and poured biro ink all over it to get me back for something I'd done previously. We stayed friends but the mag got binned.

Can anyone help me solve something that's nagged at the back of my mind for years?

**STOP PRESS**

Just found it on Barney - Best of 2000AD #91 "The Dead". At last! Now, can anyone remember if it's any good?

Welcome to the board / Back in the fold

Hey there,

Been a while since I picked up prog and something jogged my memory about a series i loved

I was introduced to 2000AD by an older friend, I think around prog 800 or so. I seem to remember flab fighters and Bradley. My parent's found a prog he lent me and forbade me from buying it myself. So naturally I disobeyed and started a collection from #964 onwards - stopped somewhere in the 1100-1200's I think.

Anyway, I'm back, but digital this time. Real life prevents me from amassing too much paper. Liked 1650, and hopefully I''ll be back for good.
