I gather that the synposis has got to be interesting to get people interested so dont get me wrong I understand that, I am currently doing animation shorts which I have wrote for and heavily planned but have some other ideas which I would love to see in the graphic novel format after doing the animated shorts, due to loving comic books and graphic novels and seeing how good stuff can be done in japanese Mangas, seriously amazing stuff and amazing storylines and action scenes and art in 2d static images as well as seeing what people have done in other graphic novels (one example is kingdom come)
My art skills are pretty good but really would prefer to do the writing and interact with an artist. This is due to doing animation and special effects course which invovled script wrting, animation, illustration, video production etc. And have some seriously talented artist and it was great to work with them and storys could be enhanced due to an artist, plus better to at least have one person who can say you suck.
Maybe they deliver something better in the artwork. Would like to bring perspective shots, perspective motion shots (obviously still not animation but say dude running to punch and all distorted) and expressive characters and also cool panel layouts but also maybe a few extra panels of a scene to enhance the moment (thats the animation within me wanted to express a bit)
I want to send new concepts to people but like so many companies seem to make it ridiculously hard to even get stuff seen, especially if its brand new concepts. Personally I think the concepts are pretty good but obviously need people to look at them and give feedback.
Got like zune branch of DC for web comics, but like no where seemed to be that interested in new concepts. Dark Horse looked rather interesting and seems pretty reasonable, as do here but again as stated in the guidelines you aint really gonna look at stuff by unknowns, so you recommend the shock stuff and you seem to be wanting only judge dread stuff.
My only worry is sending something off and getting rejected and then a month later see that whoever the company has suddenly release something which is so similar and essentially getting property stolen.
So really is it near impossible to be a unknown and have new concepts picked up?
I mean if they good then obviously but due to having no name it may never be even looked at.
Thanks if anyone looks at this and reads it.
