General / Digital back issues
03 October, 2017, 08:45:13 AM
I read 2000ad on my iPad app and wondered if it was possible to have back issues right back to Prog 1.  I realise there may be ownership issues but it would be fantastic to have them all to collect digitally.  And Starlord too possibly.

Yes it should do. I tried doing that just now on my Samsung tablet and it allowed me to read downloaded props. iPad should work the same way.

I used to use an ipad but recently bought the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2. It's the same screen size and resolution than the ipad air 2 but is lighter at 389g. I find the 2000ad app better on android as it gives the option to have landscape pages in single or double page view, something the ipad app doesn't offer for some reason. Shop around and this can be bought for much less than an ipad air 2 and also comes with 32gb memory as standard plus an SD card slot.  Another plus for android is comixology works correctly with in app purchasing.

Anyone having issues with the Android app? Like it saying you're not subscribed when you are? Or failing to log in.

Just bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 with 64gb sd card. Is there any way to change the default download location?

Been trying this out and its working great on my Hudl 2. One small request though, on devices that have on screen controls (all non Samsung devices I'm guessing) it would be good if the on screen controls could be hidden while reading. I know many apps now offer to swipe down from the top to reveal on screen controls. It would give a little more screen to the comic which would be good on smaller devices.

I currently have a subscription through iOS and lots of purchases. How do I log in to the android app to access this?

It's really about time there was an easier option to download to android devices.  I'm sure a simple app that links to downloads from the web site wouldn't be too hard to make.  The amount of android tablets out there now surely justifies the outlay for something better than what we currently have.

I used to have a Kindle Fire HD and used ComiCat to view comics on that via the dropbox method.  However, I found it too small and too much hassle so I bought an iPad and use the 2000AD app now.  Nice to see lots of GN's making their way onto the App now as well.  One thing I don't like is the price of the Meg on there - £5.49 against £3.00 on the 2000AD store and £1.99 on Clickwheel.  It's a little overpriced even if it is so convenient.

It sounds like a lot of people on here are wanting to go digital via android which makes me wonder why the app that's on the apple store hasn't been brought across to android. I realise the android version may need a bit more work due to the many different android devices but it would surely reap the benefits through more sales.  Incidentally, if an android version was available would the progs I've bought on the apple version carry across?

Yes I did mean the 2000ad app sorry.  I've been given a couple of tips on how to do it so I'll try them.

Is it possible to transfer content I have bought through the iTunes app to a laptop to view on there or on an android tablet?

I'm surprised by how many people feel having a paper copy is so much friendlier. It's like when I switched from vinyl to cd, I missed the album art and the warmth of the sound but enjoyed the convenience. With paper comics I love the smell of the ink and the lovely artwork but again digital is so convenient and storage is a big factor. I'm sure both formats will always be around. But remember this, how much would Prog 1 of 2000AD in digital form be worth at auction? And no free space spinner too!!

I was wondering recently what the breakdown in sales was between digital and paper copies of 2000ad. Does anyone have any figures available? And what do people prefer?
