News / Black Flame 2000AD novels: upcoming titles
25 February, 2005, 07:56:52 PM

Since Amazon are plainly threatening to upstage us through the devious tactic of automatically posting info on any book we log in with the ISBN code registry, long before it's actually finished, I though I'd better give you an update on planned 2000AD titles for the next few months. More details, when they're closer to release, will of course be available on www.blackflame.com

Feb -- JUDGE DREDD: The Final Cut, Matt Smith
Mar -- ROGUE TROOPER: Blood Relative, Jim Swallow
Apr -- STRONTIUM DOG: Ruthless, Jonathan Clements
May -- JUDGE DREDD: Swine Fever, Andrew Cartmel
May -- DURHAM RED: The Omega Solution, Peter J Evans
June -- ABC WARRIORS: Rage Against the Machines, Mike Wild
July -- STRONTIUM DOG: Day of the Dogs, Andrew Cartmel
Aug -- NIKOLAI DANTE: Imperial Black, David Bishop
Sep -- JUDGE DREDD: Whiteout, Jim Swallow
Oct -- STRONTIUM DOG: A Fistful of Strontium, Jaspre Bark & Steve Lypns
Nov -- DURHAM RED: The Encoded Heart, Peter J Evans
Dec -- FIENDS OF THE EASTERN FRONT: Operation Vampyr, David Bishop

General / New Black Flame novel: Nikolai Dante
17 December, 2004, 02:44:39 PM
Hey --

David Bishop's first Nikolai Dante novel, The Strangelove Gambit, is trundling out of the cavernous Black Flame warehouses en route to bookstores, ready for release in the new year.

Plot basics: A deadly secret weapon... a shadowy doctor with a strange agenda... a finishing school full of beautiful young ladies... Hurrah!

General / Black Flame: New Dredd Novel for November
28 October, 2004, 04:04:05 PM
On its way to all better bookstores now: Kingdom of the Blind, David "the" Bishop's latest Big Meg epic. Notorious and bizarre crimelord Jesus Bludd (hoo-hoo) chooses the day of a huge senior judges' conference to launch his bid for control of the city ... with hilarious consequences, etc.

As you'll see (unless I've screwed up the link as per usual) the cover is by Julian Gibson, and I'm sure someone will chip in any moment with the original prog it was taken from, in case you were wondering.

If your local bookstore hasn't got it on the shelves, you can order it using the ISBN 1-84416-133-1 (distributor is Hodder Headline/Bookpoint) or you could start patronising a less crap bookshop. Or use Amazon. Or the Black Flame webstore. Or just send me some cash in carefully hidden coins and I'll send you one myself. Whatever, just get it.

Fret not, good people.

Nikolai Dante: The Strangelove Gambit by David Bishop will be released by BF in January 2005

Jason X and Jason X: The Experiment, both by Pat Cadigan, will be released by BF in February 2005

Someone from Black Flame Towers is on their way down to Milton Keynes with a persuasive-looking cricket bat even as we speak.

General / Black Flame: first Rogue Trooper novel shipping
09 September, 2004, 02:57:23 PM
Charging out of our warehouse is our first Rogue Trooper novel, Crucible. Penned by the (insert most suitable adjective here) Gordon Rennie, this unashamed homage to all war movies with the words "Enemy" and "At the Gates" in their title pitches Rogue against an infamous sniper in the ruins of Stalinvast. Superb GI action and some dark secrets for true fans too. Check it out.

Look for it in stores worldwide October/November. Sample chapter for download up on www.blackflame.com now. Cover is newly minted by Mister Dylan Teague. He's great.

General / New Durham Red novel: The Unquiet Grave
18 August, 2004, 02:30:45 PM
Hey all --

Now shipping to stores for 1st September release: the first Durham Red novel, The Unquiet Grave, by Peter J Evans, who also worked on our well-received Dredd novel Black Atlantic. Series advisor Dan Abnett's also given this one the thumbs-up.

There's a downloadable PDF of the first chapter, a somewhat startling blood-orgy. Well, start as you mean to go on and all that. There's probably a cover shot around here somewhere too, a fine piece of Mark Harrison art. The second in this ongoing series, The Omega Solution, will appear next year.

Thanks, Will.

We know we could just produce a tatty piece of knocked-out crap, so thanks for noticing all the extra effort we put in on WHM.

"Black Frame", eh? Perhaps I'll save that one for our limited edition art prints spin-off, coming 2073.

(BTW, tax on books in the UK is 0%.)
