I agree, what Piers did was really stupid and has had terrible results for the soldiers, and clearly him now; but I think more to blame are the pathetic people who must have staged the photos in the first place.

That would be great to see. I think his style would have been really effective for some of 2000AD

I gotta say, I'm not sure how, but I reckon Judge Dredd would win!

It was terrible. What kind of sad person would want to stage such photos in the first place. Like Endjinn said, I think it was really irresponsible of The Mirror; they must have known the reaction the pictures would cause, you would think they'd make sure a million times that the pictures were actually genuine.

Lol no I'm not the editor!
Thanks Gary, I'll be interested to see what you think.
Not all newsagents seem to stock it. I had to ask mine specifically. Smiths always have it though, if you perhaps maybe might have a quick look!!?

Darryl, I appreciate you actually reading it and then giving your opinion, but what I will say is that yes it is like The Sun in the way of the women (but do you seriously mean to tell me that a half naked woman is going to put you off!!?). I think you are most definitely just looking for something to say when you say the storyline is dull. It's realistic, gripping, exciting and suspenseful.
But if you don't like it, I can happily accept it's just not your thing; and I appreciate you buying a copy to decide; unlike the people who are slating it with their opinion based upon when it was in The Scum.

Oh ok about Floyd.
Cybermax I'm not really a sportsfan either but I still like Striker because although some of its characters are in a football team, the actual storyline uses all aspecst of life, not just football.
Having said that, I appreciate it still may not be your thing!

The only thing you could I suppose say it has in common with The Sun; is the women. But come on, do you mean to tell me you would not buy a comic because it has some half naked women in!?
Sorry Floyd I can't put any links here, but if you just buy the latest Striker (it's only a quid) you'll see how much it has improved. And can decide whether it's still not your cup of tea or not! I can accept that not everyone will like Striker, but at least give it a go. (and if you did when it first came out, I'd say take another look and you'll see the improvements)

Pyroxian, I don't see why the fact that Striker started in the Sun would put you off buying it (if you were interested in sport related comics this is); because Striker now probably loathe the Sun more than all the people on this forum put together - me included!

I think football's a very exciting sport, and I don't really think it's mainly working class who like it.
I think it's a great and gives people something to follow, and almost believe in, in a way.
I do think the players get paid ridiculous amounts for what they do though.

Bone Machine, I'm a she not a he!
I agree arguments are boring, but I did not start one.
If football's so boring why is it the most popular sport?
Is anything starting to hint to you that you're slightly odd...?
If we can't discuss something without turning it into an argument, I agree, let's leave it now.
But just quickly - STRIKER ROCKS!!
