Let's go - But wouldn't it make more sense to do it from Jan - Dec 2005?

After all, won't the rest of the 2004 progs already have been printed (possibly with an appearance from Mr Kermode).

On the chicken front another one of my jobs was working in a food plant which made ready meals. And I was on the production lines. Needing the cash I worked overnight (10pm to 6am) because it was an extra 80p an hour. Whoopee!

Anyway we were working in a clean room, which meant wellies, white overalls, white trousers, hairnets, hats and blue plastic gloves (apparently the human brain responds negatively to blue coloured food so any stray bits of plastic are usually spotted before ingestion).

Because the room had been used all day - H&S say that a room has got to be disinfected. This usually happened at around 2am. Rather than stop production fully, the eight or so night shift workers were expected to cram round a small table cutting chicken breasts into 1cm strips.

The worst part was, as this needed to be done in a 'clean' environment, we were locked in one of the fridges. For two hours. Every night. It was friggin freezing in there.

An absolute joke really. But I'd still rather do that than patrolling NI streets.

On a production line for Aldi brand toilet cleaner. Compulsory overtime (but at flat rate wages) decided at 10am that day meant I would miss my physio appointment that I needed after slipping on something at work.

The fat f-ck boss didn't care whereupon I told him to stick it and punched out. Later found out that my actions had caused a mini revolution with five others walking out after I left.

Oh and a host of other shitty summer jobs to pay for University fun.

Cover had the opportunity to be a cracker - almost reminicisent of Dr Who - but there's something not quite right that I can't put my finger on.

God knows what's going to happen in Dredd - liked the guy with an arm off.

Faces gets more confusing with every episode. Someone said that all the men look the same - they were right and it doesn't help.

Lobster and Synnamon. Been a fan of Lobster, but this episode doesn't hit the right notes (but transforming monkeys are cool).
Synnamon is okay at best, but does open up interesting future storylines. Nothing particularly original mind.

Red Seas is going mental. Wasn't 100 per cent on this when it came in, but I like.

I find that MySpace area (not yours in particular Max - the whole network) seriously disturbing.

Maybe I'm just showing my age. Everyone's a good decade younger...

Forgot to mention - but just remembered now - make sure that you standardise how you write out your dates.

We just put numbers (no st or th) then the month then the year. eg Monday 29 November 2004
But there are plenty of other options.

We tend not to have a written style guide - it is an unspoken thing. Newspapers have been known to publish their own - have a butchers on Amazon if you want proper direction.

The key thing we have is if company names are singular or plural (Rebellion has or Rebellion have) - we use singular. And when referring to people, we write the whole name out on the first mention and then only use the surname (no Mr this and Miss that).

Numbers up to ten are spelled out and then written numerically (nine, ten, 11, 12). Commas to mark thousands (23,450). Millions become m and billions bn.

That's the only thing that springs to mind at the moment.

Hey Fishy,

Thanks for the offer, but I'm West London. My computer recognised that I now have an ethernet port but will not recognise my xbox attached to it. Maybe its the cable, but it is brand new.

T4E - not messed around with the firewall yet. Didn't know that would have any effect. Will try later cheers.
