What's going on with the website's chronometer? It's not half 6 is it? I should still be in bed.

Pretty much my reaction, but it is a bumper issue at least.

Hang on doesn't that mean there is more of what I don't want to read?

Mind you it means I can finally resolve the thrilling Gruber-climax from issue 20 - my only copy of tooth below 500.http://www.2000adonline.com/covers/2000ad/mediumres/20.jpg">

Well this thread got out of control.

My feelings on his passing might have been more sad had it not been for the ghoulish news reporting.

Anyway I've found this great example of why Best touched so many people in his heyday, it's a bit shmaltzy and anyone who doesn't like football might not get much out of it, but it touched me.

Bloody hell Conexus, what were you expecting people to joke about when you started this thread? Did you want everyone to say how brilliant you are, despite the fact that no-one's read the piece?

Didn't someone call you an old grump on another thread. Time for a...

Chill. Pill.

But you can't have this one - it's for me. Find your own.

Prog / Re: prog 1465 Law of the Jungle......

Not very often that a prog thread is older than its previous prog thread, but I will rectify that with this post.

I like Ranson's art. It's extremely good. However I have a problem with his depiction of Dredd. He's too old.

I mean I know he's ancient really, but in this week's prog he's suddenly got jowels and a really saggy face. Hardly stoney face, more baloney face.

Am I being too picky and should allow each artist to depict him as they wish?

Kids and their violence these days. I blame the media. There are comics out there depicting graphic violence that kids can pick up for 'entertainment'. The publishers should be ashamed of themselves.

I thought someone would have beaten me to this so I did something that I very rarely do - a search to see if anyone had already covered it.

Unfortunately the other thread doesn't mention cybermen/man or even Dr Who - so I look like a pillock now. Oh well.

Cyberflares is a very funny description though.

I've just come across the new design for the Cybermen and it's actually pretty darn cool.

Some people might think it generic robot design - but I think the scaling down of the helmet helps provide a lo-tech, distinctive menace.
