It came today in the post and god damn it was good! This may be because I am already a big aliens fan, but it made a great Dredd story too in my opinion. I like too how the pest control seems very similar to the Marines in Aliens.

An especially cool bit was when Dredd said 'Come on then- take me if you think your hard enough!'

That was ace! Also, the art when people got hit by acid was stunning.

Wish it had been longer though. Or if we got to see a sneaky facehugger escape and then there could be another one.

5 stars!

Well, its The Henry Flint Collection. The point is to showcase Henry Flint's Judge Dredd work. Those are the stories he was assigned to draw, and so that's what was collected.

Ok, but surely he done more then 6 Dredd stories? And there must be better ones out there.

A search bar, so I can find topics similar to this and post in there.

A gallery, so we can browse through super cool pictures.

Longer time to edit a post.

Fix image code (this may just be me, but I can't post images)

There is a tab for the movie on the navigation menu. A summary on the film would work best in there I think. Maybe have a locked sticky linking to it?

Well, I did find the latter three stories much better, Street fighting man was my favourite I would say. Gingerbread man also helped me understand how PJ had gotten himself into such a place of power (I had only read Tour of Duty previously)

I think I will keep it as I got it cheap, but was still disappointed that they collected those first stories. In my eyes the graphic novels should be collections of the best stories, or essential to an overall arch. Just imagine if a brand new reader would be unlucky enough to pick up that as his first Dredd read. I assume he would put it down before making it to the better stories.

Oh well, role on Aliens, and Tour of Duty: Mega City Justice! :D

IGN gave it a 9.5. It does look absolutely great. The combat is so satisfying.

Help! / Logo Graphic Design
14 October, 2011, 02:57:23 PM
Hi all, was just wondering on the off chance there is anyone on here is who is handy with graphic design on a computer? I have designed a logo for my band, but I lack the ability and software to create it on a computer. I would post an image of it, but this forum won't let me for some reason.

It's basically a circle, with the band name in the ring around it, and in the centre an image of a skull with a cigarette in his mouth and has has a greaser hair do.

If anyone is interested I will try get a picture to you.

Cheers.

In the script, does Dredd say the immortal words... "I am the Law"?!

I expect that, if he does, the delivery will be somewhat different from Stallone's effort.

Yeah, executed perfectly as well! I smiled when reading that bit. I smiled reading the whole thing though.

Relieved. Even if it's not entirely true.

I think a great way to distract from this debacle would be to release some mind-blowing cool movie imagery. But that's just my humble opinion.

yeah, they should have released some cool new pics with the joint statement.

I am fairly sure that Dredd has used the word creep loads of times. "Creep broke the law" was a line from judgement on Gotham I think.

That's what I am saying, he uses the word loads in the comics, and in the script I can't remember seeing it once. I would like it to be in the film.

Can't remember that either.. Though what I read may have been a fresher version.

Maybe they did take it out. I hope so.

Ok, so the other day, while browsing for Dredd graphic novels I came across this going cheap on ebay. After being quite pleased for winning a bidding war and getting it for a bargain of £5 (including postage) I was quite looking forward to it.

Now, after reading just the first three stories I felt I had to do a review. So here it goes.

What the hell is going on?

These stories are absolutely crazy. The first story was ok, but nothing special, then the second one started to get a bit too silly, and not really make sense. Then the third one; Talking turkeys on the run?!?
Wow.

Anyways, the turkey one was funny at least, but not the kind of comedy I buy Dredd for.

I am just curious as the artist is clearly talented so why would his collection be some totally ridiculous stories like these?

I don't think i'll be keeping this in my collection long.

Hi, do you have 'the jock collection', the one with the black white and red cover? Thanks.

Couldn't find a topic discussing the leaked script Peach Trees, so I thought I would start one to see what people think and share my opinions on it. If you don't want to know anything about it don't read past this!!!

Overall, I thought the script was great, a nice action story that suits the dredd world well, and I really liked the die hard feel. Sure nothing extremely bold or daring, but because it is Dredd it is 5 times better then any other modern action movie already. And seems like a good way to bring new fans to the franchise to support sequels.

However, just a few things were nagging at me.

I may have missed it, but I don't recall Dredd ever using the word creep. This disappointed me and I hope it is implemented in the final film, I think it is an important word. It's funny, and cool.

Also, the kiss at the end is not really a good idea. The whole idea of Anderson getting shot is pointless anyway. No one will think she is dead, so there won't be a surprise when she turns out ok. A real surprise would be for dredd to kill ma ma before she can do anything, or for Anderson to die. The latter being not such a good idea either, but at least there is shock value.

And I think to end it with a bit of good old Dredd humour, Dredd should have given Anderson something like a C- instead of an A. So she passes, but she did make some mistakes and Dredd is a harsh bastard.

Apart from that I was happy with everything else, I can't wait for this film. It's gonna rock.

(I was laughing my ass off when he shoots the perp at the start through a citizen, and while she's screaming tells her to calm down it hit no major organs.)
