It's £10/week or £40/month, just don't add up the final total cost! ;)

That is true.  If you look at it like that it's fine.  If I find 9 quid a week that's fine.  I mean it's really fine anyway I just know I wouldn't pay that outright.

I've taken the same view of my sons uni costs you'd faint if you thought what you were paying out over four years but I just put the lot away in an account from which it will be paid and pretend it doesn't exist.

Need to do the same here.  Your other thread does show it to be a lot of fun.

Stupid sensible brain.
Luckily I don't have one of those.

I do too much so really.  My wife thinks i should, she's sure I'd enjoy the project and I am saving more than enough so it's a treat she feels is reasonable.  I just can't get past the price.

You can subscribe via a newsagent and then just pick them up.

Not got one on my route to work that I can be sure of getting to sadly.

I must admit I think I've decided not to. It's just too big a cost for me to be comfortable. My sensible brain keeps getting in the way even though I like the idea and can afford it fine.

Ok cheers.  Probably need to deliver them to wife's work then.   Have to check that's ok and then decide.

Quick question on these.  Do they normally come in a fairly big package?  i wouldhave to think about where to deliver them too. I it's not the right size for any letterbox.

You are tempting me here.  Still not sure though.

It has a still/video camera...and wifi...and responds to voice commands!

So does my BB8 but to be honest the effect wore off pretty quickly and that only cost £80.
I'm getting this because...Well, shit, it just looks cool.

I think that's a big part of the apeal for me too.

That does sound very cool and really interesting for someone interested in building a robot (and who plays around with pycam and motion sensing etc in Python outside of work).

Wry very tempted.

Good point krak.  I guess part of the cost is that they have put a lot of time into designing it.  It looks very well thought out.

I think for me the barrier to this is the cost. It does seem very expensive. I'm still really tempted though as it looks ace.

That is a darned fine model.

Yeah sharky I totally relate to the hawk too.  This time last year my eyes seemed totally screwed and I had no idea what I was going to do as my job ended.  Fast forward a year and things are so much better.  Who can blame him for enjoying the material stuff for a while.

This year my haul was empty but it was full of awesome experience.  We went away so we didn't do presents but it was pretty special.

Well done hawks! Sounds great.
