Also, Spurrier just ripped off how I sometimes sign my e-mails, so I thought I'd publicly shame the plagiarising swine ;P

Aw bless.

Well, at the behest of The King, I have to pick a winner ...

So, I kinda like Gary's, but as M2 (with the 2 superscripted so it means 'squared')

How's that? And how does one superscript a letter in html?

Though Sky Showbiz hardly has a reputation for accuracy in this regard, if this snippet from a former story is anything to go by ...

Rose Tyler, played by Billie Piper, will die at the end of the current series - and that's come straight from the horse's mouth.

From the BBC:

Actress Freema Agyeman has talked about her excitement at becoming Doctor Who's new assistant as the third series of the hit BBC sci-fi show begins filming.

"I am still pinching myself," said the 27-year-old Londoner, who plays medical student Martha Jones opposite David Tennant's Doctor in the programme.

"It's been nerve-wracking, but David has been brilliant helping me adjust."

Writer and executive producer Russell T Davies has promised "new thrills, new laughs and some terrifying new aliens".

"The Doctor and Martha are destined to meet William Shakespeare, blood-sucking alien Plasmavores, The Judoon - a clan of galactic stormtroopers - and a sinister intelligence at work in 1930s New York," he said.

'Time and space'

Agyeman appeared in the penultimate episode of the second Doctor Who series, playing a minor character who suffered at the hands of the Cybermen.

After completing her role, she was invited back to audition for the role of the Doctor's new companion.

"I am really looking forward to travelling through time and space with [Tennant] over the next eight months," the actress added.

Agyeman's character replaces former assistant Rose Tyler, who was written out at the end of the second series after Billie Piper decided to leave the show.

Before the third series is broadcast next year, the Doctor will be seen in a Christmas special alongside comedienne Catherine Tate.

Freema Agyeman (right) has begun filming as Martha Jones, the assistant of Doctor Who, who is played by David Tennant. The pair will meet William Shakespeare and a clan of stormtroopers as well as visiting 1930s New York in the BBC show's next series.

Didn't realise George Lucas was a fan of Who.

Help! / Re: Sigh. Yet another TPO request....

Hang on - the publisher cancelled titles that were valuable to his company because they were edited by militant trade unionists?? That's crazy!

But nicely removes the threat of further strikes. Believe me, the management practice of firing, making redundant or 'moving' trade union activists who have rubbed management up the wrong way is still very much alive and kicking ...

Only just found this thread, but ...

Always loved Mr Dobbyn's work on Trash - the story was pretty dire but it was a wonderfully realised world with some really gorgeous colouring. And I, for one, am happy to voice my love of Medivac - a fairly nice idea brought to life with some great artwork!

Off Topic / Self-parking cars ...
02 August, 2006, 10:57:56 PM
http://www.local6.com/2006/0404/8465077.jpg">

Vehicles that are able to parallel park themselves while drivers sit and relax behind the wheel are coming to the United States, according to a Local 6 News report. New Toyota hybrid cars are now available in Britain with a $700 "parking assist" option. Local 6 news showed video of a driver sitting and allowing the car's steering wheel to turn on its own as it pulled into a tight parking spot on a London street. The reporter never touched the wheel as the car parked itself. With the self-parking assistant, the driver is only responsible for controlling the speed of the car, via the brake pedal. Toyota says expect to see the technology pop up in the U.S. soon, Local 6 anchor Jacqueline London said.

Now, I know the Yanks aren't exactly quick on the ol' draw, but surely this is a piss-take?!

I dunno, remove the chin, the steely gaze, most of the bulk and add a touch of adolescent bum fluff and you've got him ;P
