Announcements / Re: 2000 AD conventions schedule 2015

One question. Where can I check what 2000AD/Rebellion brings on specific conventions? Merch etc. Or should I just check FB profile near convention date?

If there's something exclusive to a show we'll shout about it on social media beforehand.

These two groups are supposedly where the term Left Wing and Right Wing come from.

Totes going to butt in here and mention that "left wing" and "right wing" come from the French Revolution, and referred to where politicians sat in the French Parliament. Those who sat to the right broadly supported the old monarchist Ancien Régime, those on the left tended towards more radical points of view.

Looks like there was a breakdown at our distributors and they didn't get the Progs in the post until Friday. They should be arriving today and tomorrow. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Well, this is ... odd. Sorry you guys haven't had your Progs - we've not been made aware of any issues but we've asked our distributors what's going on and will let you know.

After a hiatus of far too long the Moniave Comic Book Festival run by Sue & Alan Grant is to return.
Mark your diary for June 10th to 12th 2016.

How utterly fantastic - attending the last one was one of my favourite convention experiences! :D

Didn't Al Ewing start off self-publishing his own little photocopied strips and hawking them round conventions?

He did. Also, after many slush pile rejections, Spurrier began his career after winning the Pitchfest at Dreddcon and Arthur Wyatt went from founding Futurequake to writing for Tharg.

Better by far to make a name elsewhere: self-publish, make a web-comic, write for the small press... make comics so good that people will sit up and take notice.

This.

Alternatively, every single winner of the Thought Bubble portfolio competition has got paid work, with Tom Foster now drawing his own series in the Megazine. Also, this year we're opening to up to writers too: www.thoughtbubblefestival.com/events/2000ad-competitions/
