The plan is to have six initial fortnightly episodes to coincide with editions of the Mega Collection, then - and only if the format proves itself worth continuing with - it would shift to a monthly series with a more general 2000 AD focus.

Sounds good to me.  Personally, I think the format - informed host talks to talented creators about 2000AD - works just fine (what's not to like?), so for me it'll come down to who's available to appear on it.  Colin and Douglas were a great start - both hugely interesting and engaging.   You were alright as well, I suppose.

I really enjoyed this.  Hope it lasts beyond the 6 weeks Molch-R was talking about....and would really, really love to hear John Wagner as a future guest.

Very nicely designed though, but I just haven't got the space on my shelves or in my wallet to get the lot.  Suspect I might pick up the odd one here or there though.

I'm sure they'll be lovely but I can't justify the storage space and the really quite hefty cost for stuff that I've in most instances already got at least twice.

They do look nice though.

I loved The Dead.  Belardinelli was by some way my favourite art droid when I was growing up, and The Dead allowed him to let rip.

On this evidence I wish we could have a Special every month! 

Yeah, I found myself thinking how ace a 2000AD monthly of original material in a format like this would be. 

I've really enjoyed both specials this year. 

Hopefully the fact that the Winter Special exists is a sign that the Sci-Fi special sold enough to make these viable to do. 

I really enjoyed this.

It's a very professionally put together piece, (certainly a lot slicker than the 10 Years of 2000AD video from Speakeasy all hose years ago.  I'd love to see that again) which despite being comprised almost completely of shots of people talking while sitting in front of bookcases, holds your attention completely for its full duration and makes you wish it was a bit longer

Pretty much every creator/editor you'd want to hear from is there (Alan Moore, Mick McMahon and Steve MacManus excepted) and they're all pretty much great to listen to to.

Grant Morrison talks very fondly indeed about the comic and Zenith, which was nice to see.  I'd sort of assumed that the reprints of Zenith might have completely alienated him. 

Neil Gaiman gets a fair chunk of screen time because....well, because he's Neil Gaiman really.  Certainly more than most writers of just a Future Shock or two would get, and he's good value for it, if only for his anecdote about the time Alan Moore told him the complete story of Halo Jones ( no, he doesn't let slip any spoilers).

Matt Smith only gets a very fleeting appearance, whereas David Bishop and Andy Diggle feature extensively.  I got the feeling though that that's more because Matt's era seems to be less troubled and more stable than his predecessors.

Really though, whether you love or hate his writing, I'd defy anyone to see this and come away not thinking Pat Mills is a genius.  He's a towering presence in it and should be investigated for stookie use as he looks remarkably well preserved.

I've owned prog 1 three times. 

My brother bought it when it first came out, well technically my mum bought it for him, and then I had to wait until he'd read it, and all my other brothers had read it until I (as the youngest) got to look at it. 

Eventually mum got fed up of the big pile of comics and had a clear out while we were at school and threw out the first 200 progs.  I wasn't happy.  In my teenage years I eventually managed to replace everything and had a full set.  University coincided with the mid 90s muddy years and I drifted away through a combination of not having any money, and it not being very good.   Flogged the lot after Uni to pay off debt and to learn to drive. 

Fast foward 20 years, and I got given a copy of Thrill Power Overload and I realised how much I missed it.   A slightly pissed visit to ebay later and I had virtually everything I'd sold (for a fraction of what I got for them!).  A couple of the fellas on here sorted everything I'd missed in the meantime, and before I knew it I've got a complete - and much much bigger than before - set again.  AND THIS TIME IT'S FOR LIFE!  Probably.

The Wife hates how much room it takes up, but I'm as happy as can be. 

The BFI screening is on sale to members now.  Got one this morning.

Art wise, there's one hell of line up in this prog. 

Carlos on Dredd, D'Israeli, Dowling, Elson and Higgins with a Nick Percival cover.  That's incredibly strong.
