I liked the fact she died again... I actually found myself hoping she would...

I'm quite hoping she dies in every episode of the new series.  She could be the South Park's Kenny of Dr Who.

Oh my god, they killed Oswin

You bastards!

I'd prefer to have the option of buying a floppyless Meg (even at the same price)

Well, no disrespect intended, but you can already do that by simply binning the floppy. You don't have to keep them.

I never said it made sense....

Can't quite bring myself to throw away something from the House of Tharg.  My house would be a lot tidier if I could

Sorry, not a fan of them, but that's probably because a) I've got a full set of progs so already have everything that turns up in them.  and b) I've got nowhere to put the bloody things

I'd prefer to have the option of buying a floppyless Meg (even at the same price), but I'm obviously in a minority on that.  And as someone else said, if they're the price to pay for the continued existence of the Meg, then fair enough.  (and Pye's covers for Death Planet and Disaster 1990 were great)

Blimey.

It has been a really good year for covers hasn't it?  I had thought 1811 would be my clear winner, but now I look at them all, I think that's not going to make the top 3.

1) 1802.  A great big Dredd chin.  What the hell more could you want.  Brilliant.
2) 1786.  Dante by John Burns.  Just beautiful
3) 1775.  Zaucer of Zilk.  I do love me a bit of McCarthy.

To be honest though, I could have 4 or 5 completely different top 3s, it's been that good a year.

Since Octavian went on to become Augustus, supreme ruler and first of the Roman emperors, you can guess how that power-sharing deal worked out for the triumvirate's other two members.

That's coalitions for you.

Pretty strong line up with the exception of Ack Ack Macque. Some nice art, but as others have said it felt very like an ad.  Felt a bit like back in the 70's or 80s when IPC would launch a new title and they'd be a pull put preview in the middle of the prog.  I can see why they would do it, but I hope they don't again

Enjoyed everything else. Thought Absalom in particular was excellent, hope a new series of that is in the offing soon.

I don't get to listen as often since they moved to digital, so I missed the genesis of that. I'm assuming they're just riffing on BBC Manchester's plush new quarters revelling in the name Media City.

Yes, that's exactly why.  Plus the fact that its all high rises and a bit American looking.

Thought it was a nice touch that Dredd gave DeMarco an important task ahead of Point.

I remember a fantastic shop upstairs in tinpan alley when fp was in denmark street that had thousands of back issues of british titles mouldering in boxes, unloved and unsellable. Bought an entire run of captain britain there for about a fiver. Long gone i reckon.

I suspect that was LTS.  Amazing place.  Down a piss stinking alley off Denmark Street, into a random doorway and then up a flight of stairs into a single room piled high with dirt cheap back issues of everything imaginable.  You paid the astonishingly surly staff who were stationed sitting in the corner, on the stairs up to the next floor.  They really genuinely don't make them like that anymore.   Loved the place.

Stupid question:

How does 3G work on iPads? I've noticed that 3G iPads are more expensive, but do you also have to pay monthly for the 3G usage on top of this?

Yes, as far as I know, you have a monthly contract just like a mobile phone with 3G.  Most people I know just got the wifi one and tether it to their 3G phone if they're somewhere without wifi coverage.

Has anyone seen prog credits for next week? Do we get one long strip or three that run together? I cannot fucking wait.

This has me swearing a lot. Fucking hell.

I'm hoping it cuts back and forth between all 3 like Match of the Day on the last day of the season.

Cover - wraparound from D'Israeli.  Cover of the year so far in my book.

A clearing of the decks for prog 2013 in a stunning way.   To say I'm already looking forward to 1812 is an understatement.  You know somethings going right when you find yourself cheering the next prog boxes on the Dredd world strips.

ABC Warriors and Brass Sun wrap up.  Have really enjoyed these.  Best ABC run for ages and Brass Sun has been best new strip for some time.  Ace stuff all round.
