Right, forget the EU for a moment as I've got a winner of an idea!

Star Wars Ep VII - Rise of the Gungans.  In a galaxy of infinite possibility only one race can save the day, the Gungans. Jar Jar Shit gets resurrected Maul style, and takes over the Senate with his entrancing speech and floppy comedy ears!

Any good?

If Luke is to appear as a 'Force Ghost' it would have to be some major Badass that kills him.

In the EU (yes, I'm still banging on about it) he becomes the most powerful Jedi ever known. In the final book of the 'Legacy' series he dispatches hundreds of Vong in a frenzied battle where he's described as -if memory serves- "like he's using 20 Lightsabres" at the same time. Also the 'Green Sparks' which Tordelback mentioned, and in a later book learns how to teleport his Lightsabre to his hand rather than grabbing it with the Force.

Visually it would look stunning, and I believe would add weight to his lone wolf credentials from the OT.

Does anyone know whether Judge Dredd Megacity Masters 01 and Mechanismo are any good?

Mechanismo is excellent and well worth purchasing!

If they keep anything from the EU it should be the Yuuhzan Vong invasion. The majority of the books in that series are better than anything else from the EU (with the exception of the Thrawn books set after ROTJ).

The novel 'Traitor' is probably the best Star Wars book I've read (and I own quite a few EU novels) and would make a good basis for what would be Episode VIII, after the initial character set-up of Ep VII.

Here's a really excellent blog post that explores the role of 'tone' in protest: Once upon a time....

An excellent read sir. I cannot dispute any part of the article, the guy certainly knows his Onions.

In relation to the 'Snowden' points raised: When I first became aware of the leaks I (rather naively) imagined that a 'change' may come in the way information was handled/stolen. But, as the article suggests, the powers that be seem to have made themselves look 'Hard-done by' by the eminently Evil Mr Snowden.

Judge Dredd: Year One.

A good solid story and great artwork. Some stunning art in the Covers Gallery at the back.

The Walking Dead collection: Volume 2.

Ever since the group reached Washington It's been a very zombie-light borefest. A far cry from the first collection which I thought was excellent.

Carrie - the remake.

I'm a big fan of the original, but the new version just seems utterly pointless. The acting is ok at best and the film itself is bland and uninteresting.

What a waste!

Just heard on the radio that Nick Griffin has been declared bankrupt. I didn't catch whether it was morally, or financially.

After going bankrupt he's now going to advise others on their finances.

Unless your a stand up comedian. In which case it's fine.  ::)

Unless your Roy( call him shit he knows it) Chubby Brown. He's made a career out of being offensive to to everything; even Comedy! The guy is about as funny as a serious life threatening accident.

Anyway, the last film I watched was Shawshank Redemption. I've seen it many times but still watch it when it comes on the telly.
Amazing film as far as I'm concerned. One of the greats.

I saw The Prophecy was on last night, so I sat down to watch it. It'd been years since I watched it and was looking forward to some naughty angels getting up to mischief. But to my utter dismay I found that it was not Angels, but rather hormonal boys in Porky's!! Clearly the channel listed the wrong film.    ::)

Ha, me too.

I like Porky's to be honest but I've seen it so many times I just fell asleep.

Clue: you can play on or with it.
