Agreed.

I'd like to see the return of centre splash pages..

Was looking at some Nemesis book III Kev O'Neil episodes the other day. Alot of graft in four pages a week. Tasty.

Thought someone might ask.

Pertains to one small detail (part of a bigger picture) that I had to get right.

Heh, PVS I can't vouch for how *astonishing* the work will be or if it will b e complete by Bristol ;)

Still, gnilleps if you're interested I'll mail you a peg when it's finishd.

Found the Star Scan pages finally.. but only after using the
site search box (note to self- use that more often, instead
of systematically ploughing through the margin buttons)

Many thanks all.

Help! / So which kneepad was it?

Brian Bolland illustrated a 'Judge Anderson, Supreme Sacrifice' 2000ad Star Pin-Up, back cover, colour, somewhere between progs 200 and 300(?) IIRC.

Anderson wrestles with the immortal spirit of Judge Death, one of her Kneepads is torn.. but which one?

Could anyone possibly post a scan of that image here?

Much appreciated.

Cheers, Ol

I tend to count jobs in hours rather than days.

I've found it usually takes me 15-20 hours to draw, ink and digitally colour or tone an A3 sized piece of work.

Single illustrations invariably take much less time (6-12 hours) where as comic book pages take longest simply because there's alot to consider- a script to interpret, panel layouts, spacing for letters, multiple characters' likenesses to maintain, architecture and vehicles to design and render and so on..

Graffiti art on the other hand seems to take no time at all by comparison.. I painted the portrait of the blue girl in this piece in about 3-4 hours.

The whole wall start to finish, from priming with emulsion to signing tags took two of us less than six hours.

Finally!

Personal favourites, Heroes' Blood *and* The Shoggey Beast getting the reprint they so richly deserve..

++ The front cover has been a particular bugbear of mine since the first preview images appeared, and it's sad to see it wasn't swapped for a piece more in keeping with the contents. ++

Agreed, a new cover by Mike (or Cam) would have been very welcome (if a little unrealistic, given present circumstances). Even existing artwork from the period digitally mastered with due care and attention would have been preferable.

I can't really fault the cover art as it stands because understandably, it is perhaps more in keeping with how the current readership and/or a prospective audience may connect with Slaine post Bisley, Power, Staples etc.

As for an old dyed-in-the-wool fan like myself it just belies the content within..

If Rebellion's agenda was a fresh perspective (muses) why didn't Rufus get the commission?
