Max, I thought you knew, practically everything JEB draws looks like him ;p

If by 'rely' you mean that grounding a story within the Dreddverse it somehow loses something- anything, in the general development of the tale. then no, not particularly.

I find it can lend a gravity, complexity and credibility to a strip by drawing on this pre-existing, rich and diverse world 27 years in the making.

I'm not advocating a return to the development of strips (within the Dreddverse) for strips' sake.

Pervious collective reading experiences (as summarised by Gordon's recent column in the Meg)
have proved that new characters (at times stereotypical and paper-thin) based in Dredd's world have proved to be a mixed bag..

However, I am enjoying the latest clutch of Dreddverse stories and look forward to more *if* they continue to display the current levels of excitment, sophistication and dark humour therein.

FAO The Nerve Centre (Wagner or Rennie droids); A Deep space Doleman strip
wouldn't go a miss ;)

The red uniforms look dressy- medals, tights, garters etc. in comparison to the navy/black uniforms which appear more casual and workman-like.

Go on JEB, show us yer Beef..

++ Are those a corset and pantaloons he's wearing? ++

Yes, plush velvet/kevlar weave with a titanium twill fleck :)

*Ahem* as fer all this Frog bashing, well it's all a bit unnecessary as there aren't many Frenchies in the French FOREIGN legion ;p

Thanks, I was wondering, would the introduction of Kleggs to the ranks be a step too far?

French Foreign Judiciary; Foot Patrol

The French Foreign Judiciary is a judicial formation of approximately 15,000 persons serving as a branch of the regular Judicial Forces in Euro Cit. Based in and around the conurbations of the Cote d'Azure and North Africa, it differs from other Judicial units by accepting both humans and alien lifeforms from any system in the known universe into its ranks.

You know, you might be right.

All I can say for sure is that one of the principle characters when they left the show died in transit.. perhaps it was the first Colonel- you know- the one with the fishing floats attached to his hat.. er.. er.. lost.

Re: Dark Place. *STILL* trying to remember Garth's agent Dean(?) _ _ _ _'s second name at least six weeks after a conversation I had with a friend about said character.

IIRC.. BJ Honeycutt(sp?) replaced 'Trapper' McKintyre(another sp?).

Sadly Trapper never made it home however because his transport was (again IIRC) shot down before it reached the US.

Forgot to add that I will be reading along if i can find those Complete Judge Dredds.

Not wanting to come off *too* perdantic but shouldn't we perhaps commence with a 'prologue' of Pirates of The Black Atlantic?

Sorry, but Block Mania and Apocalypse War knock Necropolis into a cocked hat IMVeryHumbleO..

Bloodline stories and The Dead Man were a promising start but I lost interest when the sisters started to attack Kraken.

Prehaps it just wasn't my kind of Mega-epic.
