First cover of the year is up and it's a doozy! Hard to believe Karl sent me this back in August...

Is this an issue?

It wasn't my intention to include my blog or ECBT2000AD initially, but people who aren't members here have chosen to take the time to vote on those two sites. I don't think it does any harm to include them, both sites are dedicated to 2000AD after all.

Boarder of the year:

1 Buttonman - Always makes me laugh, from his letters nonesense to his Microsoft Paint rubbish to his more recent culinary photos. Witty, yet mental!
2 CF - A true and very passionate ambassador for the comic. Honest in his views which often fly in the face of others (including my own!) and absolutely wicked in his Judge costume!
3 Ming - Our hotline to ThreeA and, more importantly, over on the ThreeA forum, the 2000AD oracle who tirelessly preaches about the comic. He's also very generously organised some lovely, rather costly, surprises for people for which he'll always put his hand in his pocket.

HM - Emperor, for all his behind the scenes work and Bluemeanie for the excellent ECBT2000AD site...

Thread of the year - Easily the Advent Calendar. It was amazing to see the talent and creativity on this board, I was genuinely excited each time an entry was added, and the pro's really did us proud this year.

I love this place.

BUMP! I'm bumping this as voting closes at Midnight on 2nd January.

Blimey, there's everything to play for as I've done a preliminary count of boarder votes + plus votes on my blog + the ecbt 2000AD blog votes (go on, get your maths jokes out of the way!) At the minute there's a clear winner, TWO covers are sharing second place and two are sharing fifth place. There's only a few points in it between the 3rd, 4th and 5th places too so late votes will change everything!

If you haven't already voted, now is your chance to make a difference!

Happy Birthday Peej! That's a cracking Dredd!

Blimey, this flopped through my letterbox today, what a fantastic surprise!

I've had a quick flick through, behind Clint Langley's half cool, half not so cool (you'll see what I mean) wraparound cover there's a great twisty, turny time travelling Dredd tale which should give us older readers a buzz by Mike Carroll and the wonderful Nick Dyer. Dredd and Armitage continue their investigation which has an eye popping final page! American Reaper will continue to polarise the readership, especially as this episode erm... guest stars novelty rock act, The Darkness!?! Finally John Smith and Colin MacNeil's Strange and Darke debuts. As you'd expect, the script is crackers (though presently its reading more like a Grennie script than a Smith) and Colin's artwork is beautiful. The colours by Len O'Grady and Dee Cunniffe are outstanding - s'nice!

Add to this the movies and an interview with the fantastic Simon Jacob and there's yer Meg.

I'll do a proper review when I've had a proper read. Hmmm, the Darkness?

I used to teach an autistic lad who had to draw Top Cat or Huckleberry Hound before he could do any work. It was amazing to watch - he'd whizz around the page doing a dot here, a line there then then a piece of the hat, half a tongue, a whisker on the chin, all seemingly random marks on the page. Suddenly, the bits would just come together and there would be the perfect drawing... however, if he perceived the dot of a whisker to a millimetre out, he'd rip it up and start all over again.

A fascinating glimpse into the autistic mind.

Cliff Robinson was gonna try and do something but I guess real life got in the way. So, to make up here is a sneaky peek at my latest commission from him. It's not finished yet but it's still beautiful.

Some of you will know that he did me a Dredd vs Death and a Dredd vs Mortis so now it's the turn of erm... Wells vs Fear! This was all Cliff's idea and while I wasn't sold on it at first, I love it now!

Prog / Re: Prog 1764: Customd & Exos

I thought it was an excellent prog, I'm very happy with the line up. I'll do a full review later, but the compound in the Past Imperfect tale was
the potion that Dr Jekyll used to transform himself. The nasty doctor was Jeckyll's son.
Quite clever I thought...
