Thanks guys, you've really made my day! Apologies for my rubbish drawings - see, I didn't want to worry Firestep Films too much, it is Christmas after all! I have to say, it took me fooking ages to do and there's loads of it I hate but I thoroughly enjoyed making it!

Toby was absolutely lovely. He couldn't get hold of a microphone so ended up recording the dialogue into his phone. I think it gives Dredd's voice a tinny, radio-esque quality, it's ace! If you ever read this Toby, thaks again!

As for the music, it was used in the trailer for the Dredd movie, but I'm unsure if it was used in the actual film.

So, thanks again folks, I love you lot!

It's Chriiiiiiistmas!

Here we go then guys, the 2009 Advent Calendar! Here is my offering for Door number 1...

I made a festive Judge Dredd film and contacted Toby Longworth, the voice of Judge Dredd in the Audio Dramas and the Judge Dredd game, to help out! He was a true gent so a big thanks to him! I hope you all enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed making it, you'll find it at the link below:

I've just done a lovely Ezquerra themed blog entry. It's impossible to do the man justice!

I was hoping that on the 24th, anyone who hadn't had a chance to contribute (and even those who wanted another go) could just hoy something on the calendar. A bit of a free for all in time for Santa coming.

I've got an idea forming for it...

QuotePete- you ready for tomorrow?

(I have to say I'm really excited to see what folks have done)

Oooooh yes Bolt, and gagging to show what I've done. I'll start the thread at Midnight tonight or maybe a little earlier if I can't stay awake. Aaaagh, it's exciting!

Mongoose Publishing, it's by Neil Roberts. It's whopper on my blog with a great Strontium Dog cover too...
#3742
Oooooooh, Carlos has just sent me the cover AND the uncoloured version, I'm geeking out!!! I'll let y'all know when they're on my blog!

You're a star Darren. While you're at the in laws, why don't you scan yours in too?
#3744
It's the one by Carlos that was shown in this month's Meg - a take on that iconic final Dredd/Alpha page from Judgement Day but this time featuring Dredd and Rico. It's absolutely stunning!
#3745
Ha, he does indeed come from Exeter, Devon. Any chance of a scan Darren?

QuoteI freely admit the "cover of the year" thread was early.

Hey Mike, I hope you don't think I was having a pop there 'cos I most certainly wasn't! I loves ya!

Prog / PROG 1664 - Who The Hell's Gonna Mess With Them?
28 November, 2009, 09:49:53 AM
Yay, bagged it! Cracking prog folks!

Cover - Stunning, stunning, stunning! I absolutely adore it, perhaps that cover of the year thread was indeed a little premature?. Gulp, I've got to write to King Carlos now and ask if I can have a scan and prelims for my blog. I'm a bit scared...

Damage Report
- I saw it Matt!

Dredd - Brilliant. Lovely to see Colin MacNeil back on art duties (EDIT - though I loved Mike Collins' work too!) Funny and poignant in equal measure, loved
Al Gore Receiving the Tablets From on High
and the dialogue between the Big Old Boys
"There, there, Big Dick" "Don't hold her back. Let her come, boy!"
It's fantastic to see a tenacious Dredd and Rico working together and the introduction of the Eco Cities is cool. I love this epic!

Dirty Devils - Boobytastic part 1. The twisty turny plot continues to twist and er... turn. It was nice that Uriel let Cythea take the fall, her transformation was really cool. The panel in the middle of page 2 reminded me lots of the changing room scene in Devil's Advocate, spoooky! I know the strip has been clunky in places but overall, I've liked it, the art helping a great deal. A bit like Shakara I suppose. After next week's episode, I think a re-read will be in order...

Slaine - Boobytastic part 2. More fun with Slaine. I'm enjoying these shorter tales as I find many of Slaine's longer ones a bit samey. Clint's art is great, for some reason I've been really drawn to Ukko's teeth this week (as well as the plethora of boobies on show!) Loving Langley's panel layouts too, very imaginative. I'm guessing a warp spasm might get Slaine out of the pickle he finds himself in at the end...

Future Shock
- A nicely dense FS by Mr Wyatt with great art by Edmund Bagwell. It's a bit 'Avatar' in both looks and script (I'm guessing!) but it really is a cracking little tale. I woulda liked an extra page to see what happens though...

Sin Dex - Prog ends on a high. Very much enjoyed the explanation of Tony's death (a bit like that bullet episode from a few years back) and I'm continuing to like Anthony Williams' art, particularly some of those bits of lady artwork in the background. Hmm, the final panel is intriguing, what she up too...?

Loved this prog, especially being so long after a jumping on prog and so close to the end of year spectacular.

Aye, I'm with the first option too. I'm happy to coordinate a finished version after the 24th if people want...

I think Mr PJ Holden could do a good job...
