Film & TV / Re: Star Wars Rebels :new series

Yep, the whole family loved this.

I thought the use of John Williams' original score and Ben Burtt's sound effects was particularly erm, effective. The latter being particularly exciting in the speeder bike chase which was almost shot for shot like Return of the Jedi.

There were many moments to enjoy and I do like the characters, seeing the
Spice Mines of Kessel
gave me a particular buzz, and yep, I was a sucker for that Obi-Wan bit.

Very much looking forward to more, bring on the Inquisitor!

Really hope this takes off - much as I like the casefiles I'm not a completist and would prefer cherry-picked material including Anderson, Devlin, Chopper etc. If this series does get restarted do subscribers just get the current "test" volumes replaced?

Agree with all of this - That first volume was excellent, a really solid introduction to Dredd's world with very intelligently chosen stories. We got a bloody good MC-1 history lesson from the citizen's point of view in America 1&2, the inner workings of the Justice Dept in Cadet, Dredd's 'family' background and devotion to the badge in Blood and Duty and a couple of fun Megacity-One one offs at the end.

Perfect introduction, in fact, I'm taking this to work tomorrow to indoctrinate a colleague.

Gotta say, I'm worried about that test spine issue too...

Hachette said on phone that my first delivery had been posted on 30th - here's hoping!

Why am I so damned excited to get something that I've read a million times before!?!  :D

It's my birthday on the 12th so I will be having the obligatory dirty weekend. At some point, I want you all to put your glasses keep your lunch down and just imagine that.

As a special treat I will send pictures to Steve Green.

A good contender for 2000ADs US comics line I should think.

Oh and might to rally behind this sentiment. I'm quite sure smarter heads than me have thought of this already and agreed or not BUT this strip would be a real draw... oh go on?

Agreed. Sell it as Abnett of Guardians of the Galaxy fame and Elson of MarvelZombies/Hulk fame and the Americies would lap it up.

General / Charles Lippincott on Facebook

Stallone Dredd (as well as Star Wars) movie bloke Charles Lippincott is on Facebook and is sharing some fantastic behind the scenes gossip and some great pictures (unseen concept images, behind the scenes photos, unreleased merchandise etc.)

It's well worth "liking" if you're a Facebooker!
