It's not even been a year since The Force Awakens came out, and I've nearly totally forgotten about it.

A fantastic page by the Doherty droid - and proof that killer pages do pop up from time to time. (I totally missed this, btw).

And a lovely Sin City page there, Mute77. Very partial to a bit of the Walker droid's art, and especially from that tale. A real fave.

Apoclypse Now (1979, dir. F.F.Capola), or, as I like to call it, 1 and a half hours of Capola showing us how thrivelus and derivitive the Vietnam war was and, you guessed it, the Americans ruined it all...

...Followed by puppies and visions of hell.

I do like this movie, as the psychologically destructive movie of the 'Nam subgenre, that  whilst conveying some really gorgeous battle scenes also highlights the obvious. No one really knows why they're fighting, and whilst a few try to paint it as a grand old picnic in reality it's hell on earth.

The Redux version is truly abysmal. But I like Apocalypse now as an action/Adventure film posing as art. King Solomon's Nervous Breakdown.

Yep, rarely do alternate/directors cuts of films work. Redux is yet another example.
Very much Francis talking himself into believing this was needed to be done, and then someone allowed him to do it. Best place for the additional footage is as DVD extras.

I'd never have twigged on this possible meaning, if you hadn't of posted. But certainly sounds like it could be plausible.

I first recall this 'numbers to letters' way of doing things from scumbag groups like Combat 18.
Which, just checking Wikipedia, formed in the early 90's. I guess this way of doing things was around a lot longer than that.

I haven't looked closely at the attached documents yet. I'll attempt to find out if the company and the fs1 security site is legit as well. But I'm wary when companies ask you to pay for something before you start. But you give me food for thought Spike. I know security checks were common, but I figured it was always taken care of by the company.

Where I work (A local Government authority), when I first started, they sorted out the Police/Security checks. And pretty advanced ones at that. And whenever it needs updating, they also do this for free.

But for newer starters/temporary staff, they have to pay for their own checks. And this is NOT reimbursed afterwards

Also, I've Nieces who work in the care industry, and they also have to pay for, and swallow the cost of, their own checks if they change employers.

So it would appear that having to pay for your own checks is becoming more and more common. Another way for employers to save money I guess. As I understand it, these kind of checks, are not cheap.

So, in a way, being asked to pay upfront for checks wouldn't have set any alarm bells ringing, but everything else you have stated, does. Sounds like a classic scam set-up, tbh...
This might be down purely to me not having dealt with something like this before, and the process you've stated might be more common for certain jobs etc, but still, to me, it does sound most peculiar.

Sorry, I can't be of more help, but I think you are on the right track by proceeding with caution.

Whilst it is very strange, that they would employ somebody purely on the basis of their CV (I assume you haven't actually met them in person?), paying for a security check is pretty common nowadays.

Some cracking pieces on offer there, Eamonn.

...and a few bids thrown your way. C'mon Squaxx - get logging onto eBay!

News / Re: Rebellion buys classic comic archive

Slightly off track here, so apologies, but it would be nice if Rebellion - and seeing as they are in the mood - could also snag The Last American.

Whilst I cherish the original comics, I've often dreamt that this would get a super-duper HB re-issue.

Was that tale creator owned, or does the original publisher - or even someone else now - own it?

I remember sci-fi (was it even called sci-fi then?) that was aimed at kids in the 1970's.

Invariably it looked like this.

..they're much more vibrant than the printed versions in the prog.

Quoted for truth.
Wiggz sorted me out a John Burns page, a while ago now, and they are indeed stunning to see first hand.

(...and I'd love to flick through that portfolio in the above photos - looks to be some mouth watering art on offer).

Spotted on twitter via Mr Burdis - seems like they're editing some bonus bits, no more info other than that.

Blu-ray release, maybe?

Ah, tis sad news indeed. As others have also said on here, Gene starred in many favourite films of mine as well.

RIP, Mr Wilder. And thanks for all the laughs.

And a rather belated RIP to Lucy - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-37194764

Just brilliant, and I feel like I've been waiting nearly 40 years for someone of talent to make one of these.
