Film & TV / Re: Last movie watched...

Still got a fair sized pile of new stuff to watch, but succumbed to a bit of tried and tested comfort food the last couple of days.

Soylent Green, and The Omega Man. Classic 70's Chuck Heston, and both films are great fun.

In the 70's, the Sasquatch (aka the bloke in the monkey suit) was famously filmed from quite a distance, generally out of focus, with a shaky cam.  The grainy film-stock also helped.

When it was cleaned up, and remastered, all was finally revealed..

The new Stormtroopers do
kinda look like ducks
. <- You'll never be able to unsee it if you click on that.

Cheers

Just picked up my copy from the newsagent, and a quick flick through reveals at least half of this looks to be of interest. Some poor repro on the older stories though, which is maybe understandable.

As others have said, maybe better stories could have been included - though im not a Meg reader, so im pretty unfamiliar with what's out there.

Im sure there will be some duds in this collection (And 80 books, now that I think of it - again, is a lot to fill, though im sure there's enough quality material to fill the bulk of them...)

Next fortnight's offering though, is an undisputed classic, so well and truly back on course.

Aye, RIP Mr Trimpe.
A big fan of his work growing up, and Im lucky enough to own some pages of original art that he penciled.

Re-reading the Shamballa book from the Mega collection, I was reminded that the spaceship Anderson uses at the end of The Jesus Syndrome story, bears more than a passing resemblance to the Narcissus shuttle from the first Alien film
