Just popped into town to pick this up...

Lovely glossy cover, and Part One of Enceladus waiting inside,
Cant read it yet, as I've Prog 1923 to read first.

Ahhh, a lazy Bank Holiday Friday, and two progs to read. Marvellous!

In the mid/late 70's I met and got the autograph of Austin Mitchell, when he was campaigning to be our MP.
Austin was a kinda big name, as he used to present our local regional news programme...
He did become our MP, and only retired the other week.

And around the same time; Mick Brolly, who's daughter went to our school. I didn't know who he was, and why everyone was mugging him for autographs - it had to be explained to me that he played for Grimsby Town (He was pretty good in his day). Got his autograph about 6 times, all told.

And the best of all; Ive stood behind Phil Oakey in the Sheffield Space Centre. The assistant serving him seemed a bit star struck. I'd have thought seeing a member of the Human League in Sheffield would be an everyday occurrence?

I dont know if these have been featured before (It's hard to keep up, once the thread page count grows...), but someone was hawking these about ($220 and they kindly offered the e-mail, so you could grab one) over on the Judge Dredd facebook page..

Giving this some serious thought. Be a grand day out, I reckon.
Early bird tickets are now £12.00, which is still nowt, isn't it.

And this is exactly why I didn't sign up.
I know peeps have had theirs delivered OK, but a good few haven't. Maybe the packaging will improve, as others have speculated, once the free gifts are out of the equation..

But for me, I've now set-up a standing order from the local newsagent (who stock the prog as well), so two birds with one stone.
Sorted.

And I finally tracked down a copy of book 5. I knew I would,  ;)
But to save any future hassle, I've set up a standing order with my local newsagent.

As with the previous four books, this is one nice looking collection.

I've got the stories already, but I honestly cant remember the last time I read them, so looking forward to re-visiting these.

(Just a slight shame the cover doesn't contain a flash of red, like the others...)

Yes, a cracking thread. Really enjoying seeing this all unfold, and start to come together.

Another great podcast Guys!
And nice to see the Paul Chadwick piece get mentioned on eBay watch. A pretty good price for the lucky winner to pay.
A bit lower than I expected it would go for. As you mentioned it can be hard to judge prices for Paul's work, as very little finds its way onto the market.
And its Paul Chadwick himself that still owns all of the interior pages.
He just doesnt sell those - mores the pity.

Y'know how some pages of original art, you can see the physical process in the page? Not this: it's perfect. The blacks are so black, the colours so vibrant... it's just amazing.

Cheers

Jim

I totally agree with this. Been fortunate to have gotten a few pages direct from Cam himself, and to see the pages first hand is a revelation.
To look at them, You would think they'd just appeared fully formed, as if by magic.
Some talent, that Guy.

But congrats on snagging this Jim!

And finally my original art drought is at an end. Straight from Paul Marshall himself.

Got a few bits of Bacchus from the old Dark Horse Presents, etc. Pretty good, if I recall.

Must dig these out for a re-read.
