Surpassed 15 copies in sales. Might seem like small potatoes but I'm immensely grateful for any and all support, thanks the lot of you!

A personal mantra I've adopted from journalist Jack Hunter is 'NO BUDGET, NO LIMIT' as scribed in his epic Eros In Hell collection of treatments. The lower the budget, the more free you are to just do whatever the fuck you want.

So, Q is must watch film? Great. But first I have to check Cohen's God Told Me To.

A personal favourite of mine, it's absolutely insane. Probably the most ambitious movie ever to be filmed in and around 42nd Street and is woven into one another DNA, while simultaneously paying homage to the surrealists. One sequence straight up references a Dali painting. It's a mad as a box of crackers.

I'm all in favor of deep systemic reformations of our constabulary, but the realist side of me feels that they're far to deep into their habits to be 'freed' so easily. They enjoy affectively being able to act without fear of any real consequences.
"Doctor Goodsir conducted a prolonged study of the tinned food. Some where spoiled, some where just bones and rocks, and all potentially edible tins have been poisoned by the lead solder being improperly applied. Mr Goldner appears to have done his work on the cheap."
"I'd like to run that man through."

I already knew about this particular aspect of the real world Franklin expedition, but watching it play out over the 10 episodes as everyone slowly poisoned themselves without their knowing....it's absolutely horrific.

Aquaman is the best Saint Seiya movie. It's an absolute clusterfuck of nonsense, a larping project given a hollywood budget. The kind of action pomp I can really get behind.
Shazam! was pretty wonderful too.

WW84 just made me annoyed.

Wandavision: Made it 3 episodes before tapping out. Smug, self satisfied toss.

The Terror: Second time watching the first season as it's now on Iplayer. Basically the perfect way to to TV horror.

Got my copy. Looking forward to reading this in about 18 months when it reaches the top of the pile! It'll be a nice surprise.

Thanks Bolt, hopefully I'll have more out soon (watch this space, undergoing some interesting talks right now) and I'd be doing a disservice if I didn't give credit to the small press books and comics such as Something Wicked for their part in getting me into self publishing.

Last month I took out a MUBI subscription, a choice I can highly recommend, best streaming platform out there by miles.

Anyway, just slapped on ONCE UPON A TIME IN AMERICA the last movie I needed to see to close the book on Leone's career. Report back in 4 hours (!!!!)...

Yep purchased and will get it read as soon as possible. Well done for getting something out. My novel remains almost there and has done for 10 years!

Too kind Colin, hope you enjoy and don't give up on that novel! I shall reserve a pre-order copy when the time comes.

Heh, I'd definitely pay two quid for that :D

When the crisis is over, maybe we could form a local writers' group - Scribes Having Existential Doubts, maybe...?

Oh it's almost certain now most late Cretaceous therapods looked like giant chickens.
People say this is lame. These people where never been chased by a randy angry Cockerel as a child. Those things are TERRIFYING.

I don't have a bank account but I'll get a friend to buy it on my behalf - got support fellow scribes!

Best of luck with it, Hawkie!

Men in sheds living off the grid is actually my primary demography! I seem to recall you actually live not far from me so if A) Covid wasn't a thing and B) this was a physical book, I'd have cycled over and lobbed it at your door like some deranged post boy while blasting the International as I went by.

Absolutely is! Big film buff, indeed I nearly went to film school. Due to lockdown I've moved back in with my grandparents to keep them company through all this but once it's over I'll be pulling the rest of the collection out of storage and doing a proper studio set up, projector and all.

Phew I was about to berate you for being so behind - good to hear the rest are waiting to be read. That's a pretty nice set up and a tidy collection you got going there.

Must update the nerdcave thread at some point as there's been changes since I first set that up.

Took me awhile to round up the rest but a well worthy exploit, and I'm much looking forward to diving into the Siberia chronicles!

You've still got my Charley's War books! ❤️
They're one of my gems. I could 'upgrade' to the new Rebellion editions but ah, I feel the HC, slim and resplendent treatment Titan gave the series is perfect enough for me.
