Creative Common / I wrote some weird shit

I wrote a book! Or more accurately, a small collection of weird fiction. REBIRTH AND OTHER ABERRATIONS is a small project I've been tinkering on and off for a few months and now its out in the wilds. Simon Coleby was kind enough to let me use an astonishing piece of work for the cover and if you've any interest in horror, supernatural, weird or the grotesque, you might get a kick out of a few of these.

There are more books and comics than that, but they're over on the bedside cabinet waiting to be read, including the rest of Corto Maltese among others.

I spent much of the last week watching IT'S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA which I initially intended to pace myself over, but quickly found it to be like crack.

Now if you'll excuse me, i'll be sipping a delicious and subtly zesty WOLF COLA(cm).

Also, with the probably exception of Bull Sharks*, most sharks are passive creatures that mainly scavenge whale carcasses or eat seals. Attacks on humans are extremely rare and are always derived from misidentification of their part, studies even suggest that most sharks find human meat unpalatable.

I adore JAWS, one of the best thrillers of all time, but my god the stigma it's brought to such beautiful marine animals is a real tragedy.

*And even then mostly only in the breeding seasons, any Floridian will confirm you stay out of the water in the spring.

Very mild way of putting noncery that.

Watched the WSA MONSTER HUNTER over the weekend. It's obviously absolute bollacks but at a crisp 90 mins is exactly the kind of slick, short action nonsense I needed this week.
I'll stand us for the Resi movies any day of the week too.

It's in many ways the perfect movie for the 80's American landscape.
Crass, morally bankrupt, and basically just an excuse to flaunt capitalist excess.

Can't stand it myself, in case that wasn't obvious already.

In terms of TV there's really only a few endlessly rewatchable series. I tend to watch THE THICK OF IT at least once a year, as I do the original PATLABOR OVA's.

Branded To Kill

Not sure I could watch it on an endless loop or I'd never touch rice again, but it is one of my very favourite movies of all time.

I can't remember who it was, but there's some conservative talking head on Youtube who got asked how he ratified his objections to socialism with the need to maintain infrastructure necessary not just for the civilian populace but for the capitalist class to use in pursuit of profit, and he just goes off on one saying "you think you got me with them bitch-ass roads, but I don't care about no motherfucking roads."  Then he said the army and cops weren't socialism, "because they ain't."  I am really trying to remember his name because I think it's really important to get him and Sharky in the same room and film what happens.

If that isn't the walking dumpster fire in a shite beard formerly known as 'Sargon of Akkad' i'd be incredibly surprised. The dude's one argument is 'I don't need it/ I didn't ask for it' to stuff he absolutely uses every single day, then laughs at rape victims or something because he's scum.

It's funny looking back at the Obama administration nowadays as some kind of 'golden era' of US diplomacy and civil rights but....yeah no.

As a wise old Sharky so often says, 'Same shit, different captain'. Only this time the captain isn't quite such a spoilt bore.

Edit: I should probably say, 4 years ago I would have believed all that about Obama, but I was a dumb kid so 2016 Zac can take a long walk off a short pier.

Moulin Rouge!

SBT

Now it's my turn to say I couldn't even watch it once!
A rare DNF for me, but I can see people enjoying it as a kind of more dumb, fun version of Topsy-Turvy.

Top class film, but endlessly re-watchable?
You're an odd duck, Hawk!

Guilty as charged skip!
