Meat is murder.
May I recommend the meat-free wonder burger? Had one once and now I have a rather wonderful set of tits.
Wait, this isn't the conspiracy thread....

But, sadly, all we have is the ruin of last night's experimental pizza and some worryingly lumpy milk.

I can't imagine how the likes of Quatermass could be adapted for that kind of... (suddenly remembers the existence of the 1985 film, "Lifeforce").
Ah.
Never mind.

Rewatching The IT Crowd yet again. Timeless stuff.

The Night Land's strengths are so great that even its manifest flaws cannot eclipse them. Still, you may find Hodgson problematic in a different way to Lovecraft - not in terms of his attitude to race, but towards male / female relationships. 'Unreconstructed' is an understatement! Still, it's more a case of thinking "oh dear" and moving on - he's not like Lovecraft, whose prejudices actively fuel some of his stories and are inextricably woven into their literary fabric.

You need to do The Night Land now. Monstrously flawed, frequently aggravating... and yet probably the best book ever.

Kolchak The Night Stalker - I love this daffy old series, mildly obsessed as I am with urban America circa the 1970s, and seeing Chicago up close like this as I have another rewatch is a treat. The monster-of-the-week formula works best when we don't see the often-terrible creature work and the threat remains offscreen or filmed in the first person, but the lizard monster rampaging around themining colony on Janus VIsecret laboratory is simultaneously laughable and fantastic, having the ability to smash through any wall at any moment and murder everyone in the room, yet also for some reason appearing out of thin air in these incredibly long, empty tunnels. Great fun.
