Well, looking at their other licenses (Halo, Marvel for example) I'm not sure if it's a business savvy thing so much as having higher profile IP licensed.

Ashley Wood does keep saying how close to his heart the 2000AD stuff is... but I agree, there's definitely bigger and potentially more profitable licenses that 3A have, and Ashley is a co-owner... so there's other folks to keep happy in the mix...

In conversation with him, he does seem very committed to getting these figures out - a passion project - I guess it just isn't quite enough to get the stuff over the line in a timely manner...  Oh well, every day is another day closer to some form of confirmation of news!

That Richmond, he's always elevating members...

Groan  ::)

I mean...*Groan*.

Oh God.

I mean...*Oh God, how can I stop this*

Ahhhhh!

You could always "de-elevate" Jim ;)...

...but in the meantime, I appreciate my member elevation!

Awesome.  They're ALL great, I particularly like the colour and the grey-tone options.  Though the McMahon linework version is pretty bloody close to genius.

Revelling in the rare opportunity to buy something 2000AD related that doesn't cost me an arm and a leg in shipping costs! Huzzah for Australian fanboys that make stuff!

Cheers Ghost!  How's the film industry treating you these days?

Hey folks,, been a participant on the forum for a fair while (a couple of years?)... so how does one become:
  a) something other than a "new arrival"...
  b) able to post freely in all topics (I seem to be unable to do so)..

Do I have to slip someone an unmarked envelope of galactic groats, or something..?

Hi Michael and inkymonkey,

Status? I've got about 35+ artists working on scripts at the moment, so it's all chugging along nicely. ;)

Time wise, this will be a long term project (like Kranburn) so it should be around for years. So never fear about not being available for volume #1. :)

Coolio.  I'll keep an eye out and stay in touch!

Hey BMB - nice stuff.  Been very aware of Kranburn for a while, and as far as I'm concerned, kudos for getting it out there on a regular basis - a rare achievement in itself down here in Oz....  (I know this well...)

I'm interested in having a little go at something for this, but got a few things on my plate that will potentially keep me busy till mid next year... Is that too late for you..?

You don't have to be a member to buy their products! I bought the smaller* sized Mongrol and I'm not a member.

I think members get discounts though, so if you plan on  collecting a lot of their products it would probably be worth it. If you're gonna dip in and buy the odd one now and again,  it's probably not worth it.

True Mardroid, you don't have to be a member - better make that verrrry clear to anyone who's vacillating about these.

But if you were after some of the variants - well, in the past, you've had to have been a 3AA member to be able to preorder them.  Otherwise waiting till they're released and then paying a highly inflated premium on eBay to pick up one.  So - having a small problem with being a bit of a completist - it made sense for me to buy the membership...  And, of course, there IS a discount for members...

Given there's going to be nine figures in that first wave - and probably one variant of each - it made sense to me!  :|

Well, nice to get some {almost} real time frames for these - it's been a long, long wait...!

But if there's a Nemesis in there (I remember that was mentioned a loonnnnng time ago), that'll be worth the wait alone...

And I for one would certainly appreciate a 2014 preorder, given I paid good money for a 3AA membership this year just so I could get these!  But I agree with BPP that the line needs good and sensible marketing and time to allow folks to be aware of it and support it.  None of this 24 hour availability for preorders, that'd be just bonkers (hello foot, meet gun).

A very nice little curio, that.
(I dont know what that robot is doing, but it looks a bit rude... )

It does somewhat, doesn't it..?  Ah, the (relative) innocence of the '70s...

Hey folks - is there anyone out there who might have any of these 2000AD-related oddities they might be willing to part with..?

I'm trying to find a copy of the 2000AD prog 1450 and 1589 variant covers that came free with SFX Magazine...

Also a copy of the Subscription Only poster (Skyline of Mega City 1) that came out with the 2006 subs?

I've got a few other things I'm looking out for, but I'll try my luck with these first...  I'm willing to pay!  (Reasonable rates, anyway!)

Thanks all!
