Sorry to hear that Sharkie. I know their only books, but having lost a sizeable portion of my own collection to a flood I know it still hurts.

Sad news about Vinnie Paul. Pantera was one of my favourite bands, it was a shame they broke up. RIP.

Nah, they can be annoying so it's better to handle it that way than be nasty to them.

After almost 4 years pounding these mean streets for a living, I have developed a baleful glare that strikes chuggers mute and drives them from my path.  Clipboards without signatures, tabards damp with tears: these are pleasing words to me.

What is best in life?

To crush your chuggers, see them driven before you, and her the lamentations of their charities!

Some of them have gotten rather sarky and abusive with me when I told them no. I guess I bring out the best in people.

Jaws

How can you possibly improve this movie? It would be an impossible task I suspect, it genuinely is a work of perfection the likes of which is rarely seen.

Most of the action and scares were because the shark was so well hidden. Just like our deepest fears. Need to watch again soon.

I am so sick and tired of working for a man that regularly sets policies and then on a whim, with no notice or reasons given, changes, retracts, or does an about face on those policies, and then blames me and everyone else around when said changes blow up in our faces. Ugh.

Same thing happened with Hitler and Stalin. Look how well that turned out.

"You expect them to fight for a rag on a pole?"

"You do, Richard. You do."

Love Sharpe - going to have to watch it again myself, now.

Cox was wonderful as Major Hogan.

That's it. Time to start the series over again.

Sad news about Bourdain. I enjoyed several of his books and television series'. Most recently the Get Jiro graphic novels. I worked in some kitchens in the 80s and I can say from experience his books were not embellished. RIP.

Thanks for my new signature!

Yeah. Apparently, a STEM degree wasn't required (or even desirable I guess) to teach maths or science. At that time at least.

Similar situation for me. At the time I finished my undergrad (BSc. Hons) there was a cry for science and maths teachers, but when I went for the interview they told me they had too many history and English graduates applying and I wouldn't be considered.
