Cool icon y.t.t.i.m. We could do with a few more God stalking plumbers on the site.

"you'll know what a friendly bunch everyone is."

Apart from Jared Katooie that is. He is really scary and evil.

karne runs off and hides before Jared comes looking for him.

"using the deaths of their loved ones for military or political gain".

A point well made Mr McNulty. Whatever the reason for the disaster, it is now far too late for the "No smoke without fire" syndrome to be halted in it's tracks. A fact I suspect Bush and his "itching for a scrap" Generals are only too happy about.

Maybe you should take some time out and find your inner child. Trust me, being childish every now and then is the best therapy you can find.

Speaking from experience,

Is it a hologram picture, or one of those other types that move when you tilt them?

Did you know that you can actually buy the book of "The World Stare-Out Championship Final"? It's called, funnily enough "The World Stare-Out Championship Final" is by Paul Hatcher and costs ?6.99. I don't think it's as funny as the cartoons, but as I picked up my copy for 99p in a W.H.Smiths sale, you won't find me complaining to much.

Maintaining eye contact from across the table,

"too stylish and he'll turn all Hitlerite"

But as Wagner has stated many times before, that's the whole point. Dredd is a facist not a circus act.

For those of you old enough to remember, cast your minds back to the days of the very first Dredd strips (in B/W you recall). Right here we go...Wow that Judge outfit is so cool, I'd love to have one like it. Everybody would be so scared of me if I had...Ooh, hang on, a colour picture of it... ... ...Whu?... ... "GREEN" BOOTS!... Oh my! It's not just his boots, it's the gloves and pads as well! My tiny dreams are shattered. Why would crooks fear me if I looked like a harlequin?

You see my point? I always thought Dredd's outfit would have been better if it had been all black except for his badge and shoulder pads (which should have been gold). I still think this now, but the problem is that people seem to dislike changing established characters even when those changes would be beneficial. For example: Superman's outfit, like Batman's was based on the circus strongmen outfits of the era. Although the idea of a man wearing his pants over his tights may seem ridiculous now, at the time it was associated with great strength and superhuman feats. Because these values no longer apply, he just looks extremely embarrassing these days.

Marvel comics have a number of very old and well-established characters, and despite this fact, they never seem to have a problem experimenting with their costumes. I accept that over the years Dredds outfit has changed in design, but the colour remains the same. Why is this? If he can be given an updated Lawgiver and Lawmaster, couldn't he be given a better-coloured outfit? Surely 2K's audience cannot consist solely of fanboys (and girls) who think that you shouldn't change anything that has already been established whether good or bad...can it? Am I alone here or can we get a poll going on this?

Bestest,

Karne, unsealing Pandora's vase and looking for hope at the bottom of it.

P.S. I thought Spidey should have kept Venom's symbiotic costume. It was cool as!

"I don't know what you are talking about."

Well the title of the post was a bit of a clue ;)

"Despite distributing to over 120 markets world-wide, the Distillery still remains one of the smallest in the Highlands and employs just sixteen craftsmen - "The Sixteen Men of Tain" - who have become synonymous with the Glenmorangie brand all over the world."

Karne, not just here for the somewhat implausible facts.

1. What shape is your head?  Head-shaped.

2. Which book do you wish you'd written?  My homework by karne.

3. If time got stuck, what time would you like it to be? The time before it got stuck.

4. Are there really only sixteen men of Tain? No, the rest of them are publicity shy.

5. What was her/his name and why didn't you have the courage to ask her/him out? She can't be named for legal reasons, and her minders prevented me from asking her out.
And would your life be different if you had?  I would not have been issued with a restraining order.

6. Why do you read 2000AD?  Because it has writing in it.

7. If the opportunity arose, would you live and work abroad?  Opportunity does not arise, it knocks.

8. If you had to provide one piece of advice to an alien stranded on Earth, what would it be?  Stop bothering people with your screenplays.

9. Can justice be bought?  Yes, but the price is freedom.

10. You're Tharg for the day: what are you going to do? Go on... you know you want to...  I'd bring back Bill Savage, and reduce the price of a prog to 50p (Earth money)

The last time Fear got on the wrong side of Dredd he ended up getting his face punched through.

"by that decree 2K should only have fluffy bunnies in flowery frolics".

Now that's a little extreme Bou. All I was suggesting is, are there some subjects that should not be used for the purpose of entertainment. Personally I'm very liberal minded when it comes to such issues, I'm merely trying to provoke a debate over whether or not if this sort of material became the norm, would we all become so de-sensitised to it that it would cause no outrage at all?
