I'm at a loss for something to post today, so in the spirit of contrived space filling I've taken an old idea from 2000ad (recently revived for prog 2003) in which I get you all to name your favourite 2K prog cover whilst giving a few reasons why you like it, and why you think that anyone apart from yourself would be the slightest bit interested in your opinion.

I'm going for prog 473 by Jim McCarthy (I always thought it was Brendan) closely, if not followed alongside by prog 552 by John Higgins. I like them because they are likable. Whilst I'm at it, I'd like to predict (probably unsuccessfully) that I don't think any prog this year will beat prog 1323's Moloch cover.

Also I would be grateful if you could all make a small monetary contribution towards some "old rope" I have my eye on at the moment.

Karne the short-changer.

As no one seems to have got this one I suppose I'd better tell you. It was "Didn't you kill my brother?"

Here's another one for you...

"You said "nuclear warhead"

"No I didn't...I said...new...clean...hat..for head."

You can play Dr Who top trumps online at the BBC Cult website as well as a cult tv version. I think it was them that also used to do a printable set of Top Trumps that seems to have gone now, but I still have them on disc if anybody wants a copy of them.

Here's a link to the Online version...

I've been working on and off (more off) on a set each of Judge Dredd and 2oooad based Top Trumps since last year. The layout for the card bases is completed and most of them have the pictures inserted. I still have to work out the stats so I should get them finished and uploaded to the site by the end of March.

I've also produced a more printer friendly version of the Flesh card game by separating them, giving them new borders and creating a sheet of backs for them. The backs just need setting up so they align properly with the card fronts when printed but if Wake or anyone wants to do that I'll upload them as and when.

I suppose it could have been worse though. Rogue could have had slots in his Knife, footwear and underwear. Imagine Stabman, Booter and Pants

I always felt like he'd went for a Red Indian type of angle for the Skywalker name, and although I don't mind it so much these days, I always thought it was stupid as a child.

However you are digressing Mr Scott and in doing so causing me to, so back to the original point. Inappropriately or stupidly named characters, name some that you hate.

How many times have you been totally blown away by a comic, book, film, game or whatever, only to have it ruined by an inappropriately or stupidly named character. You know what I mean: Luke Skywalker, Perpugilliam Brown that sort of toss. I have too many to list here, perhaps you could all do it for me?
