Um, apart from manually removing the cookie from my work computer (which I can do), is there not an easier way to sign out?

Um, assuming you're not taking the piss, Mr Salesman, this of course means you know me too...

Do you work in a comic shop... or a comix shoppe? :)

(if you don't understand the reference, don't worry. It just means you're not the matt who works in my local comic emporium after all, as I previously thought...)

Killing Time was VICTORIAN... and involved a time machine that wenrt to the beginning of everything; in fact, every Indigo Prime story was about time travel or parallel dimensions and stuff.

On the other hand, Chronos Carnival didn't actually have any time travel in it, bizarrely.

Help! / Re: Is the meg out in the shops?.....

Got it yesterday.

I really liked the Dredd story. Call me juvenile, but the thought of seven million toilets backing up made me laugh.

Wardog anticlimactic, SD story (new to me) pretty good but not one of the best.

Oh, and Hellboy wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. Which is nice.

Actually, I gave Firekind a (wholly honest) 10 and was surprised to see it up there. I have a feeling it won't be there for long. As was the case with Hewligan's Haircut and Indigo Prime, both of which I gave 10's...

After an inspired bit of ballot-rigging from me and PVS, the top 20 characters look more representative now.

Except for Firekind.

But I can't see that staying there long...

No, not the Armoured Gideon bloke -that was Simon Jacob. I think the pic that was there before was by Anthony Williams.

General / Why I hated Finn
04 April, 2002, 03:39:44 PM
I gave him a 1, and he still only moved down three places. But at least he's beneath Slaine now...

Before you applaud me for my conscientiousness, I was the one whose (fifth) vote got Indigo Prime, hewligan's Haircut and Firekind briefly in the top 20...

But Finn. Finn is inexcusable. If I want fundamentalism, I'll get something Bob Jones University. If I want pagan preaching, I'll buy a copy of the Spiral Path. It wasn't satirical, it wasn't fun, it was just preach, preach, preach. At least Slaine had some good stories...

General / Finn??

What is Finn doing in the top 20 characters?

How did this appalling piece of crap get people giving it top marks?

General / Big Dave: loved it
05 April, 2002, 11:17:51 PM
Big Dave was extremely offensive and utterly hilarious from the very first page, and was not only the work of Mark Millar - Grant Morrison wrote it too, which is why, for me, it shines above a lot of Millar's other stuff.

I can't believe you thought the Balls Bros were funnier, Wake.

Oh well, horses for courses.

And Silo was bloody excellent. I remember it being th first thing I read by Mark Millar and taking a mental note of the guy's name...

And then he produced Babe Race 2000...

Oh, and Book of the Dead is saved by me, on principle bceause of the Grant Morrison input.
