crisps? cue the stereotypical response of someone from Norn Iron - Tayto Cheese and Onion - they make every other variety of crisps seem well tame

Presumably by graphic novels your talking about those collected things rather than the individual issues that make them up - as this is the only reason I can think of why Luthor Arkwright hasn't been mentioned yet.....

Nothing - St Patricks day is all about paddywhackery - inflatable shilleaghs, Green Guinness, velvet suits - pigs under arms - celebrated in Mock Micks Traditional Oirish pub or Sean O'Stereotypes that has a couple of worlds of gaelic on the walls and a bicycle hanging from a ceiling or a sign pointing to Ardmacha or Belfeirste while misty eyed 19th generation "irish" people sing Danny Boy into their pints....

...yes I'm from Ireland

Top comic - bought the individual issues when they came out during my long since ceased "buy US comics by 2000ad creators" phase - see also Skreemer.....or maybe not....

++Heavy words there Logan..When you say many readers you mean the vocal minority on this board ..Slaine, ABC Warriors, Nemesis etc etc remain Squaxx' favorites to this day..check out the profiles page for proof ; )++

But isn't this just evidene of that he is living on past glories... the most recent creation he is Slaine....in the early 80's. And look how they declined...does anyone here eally think that the latter Nemesis or Slaine or ABC Warriors are any where near as good as the original ones...?? then we've got the other things he's produced in the meantime - Finn? Third World War? That Flesh (that name escapes me) thing and now this - it has regretably been a long slow decline. The "new" Invasion sequel - will it be the one that turns things around????

it's bloody awful - If I'd submitted this it wouldn't have got printed - But then as Middenface is back next month (hurrah - I don't think) the only reason I'm currently buying the Meg is Charleys War so go figure....

Suggestions / Re: Storm Force?
06 March, 2004, 06:31:44 PM
better idea - why not get some of the current bunch of 2000ad's top creators to re-imagine Storm Force for the 21st Century - bingo fried gold

Would (or indeed could) it be any worse than the New Rogue Trooper or the new VC's???

I learnt that reading the Book Of The Dead which has pages made from rotting human flesh by the light of the igniting souls in hell on October 31st in a cellar backwards, while your friends chant a black mass is perhaps not the cleverest thing to do

Last episode of the X-Files. I know that at the time Chris Carter insisted that there was an all encompassing story arc - particularly after B5 won all those Hugos - but it was pretty obvious to even the most casual observer (ie me at least) that they were in fact making it up as they went along....
