Why not share some pictures you drew in the past here... if you don't this is all going to become a bit self absorbed as I have quite a few I fancy popping up, so come on join the fun.

First up my love for Bisley these days is low. I really don't get on as well with his work as many. Even his great works. But back in the day... I think I did this when I was in sixth form...

Alas the colour Joe Pineapples I did was used to front a folder at school and hasn't survived. And a Deadlock as I recall... man I used to slavishly copy Bisley's stuff.

That is some epic stuff!

I have this photo bouncing around my folders of my skateboard from when I was about 15 or 16 maybe. I copied this from a Bolland summer special cover - sanded the board, drew in the sketch in permanent marker, and then painted over it with enamel, using the cover as reference. It took a solid week to dry! That was before I discovered the joys of quick-drying acrylics and varnish.

I wish I'd taken a better pic of it now. Still, in hindsight I think not bad for a spotty wee teenager!

Have you ever wondered how we know 97% of climate scientists have arrived at a consensus over the causes of climate change (us)? Or even why that is so important?

This is a really interesting read, showing the history leading to that conclusion, and how this information is key to creating the change we need:

I'm wondering about that fourth Indiana Jones film (or TV series?)

Fifth. Or are you trying to block Crystal Skull from your mind?

You made me think of it.

GODDAM YOU!

Well, I did bold the number...

Ah, I see. Probably too subtle for my addled brain.

I did warn my partner
Grogu was unlikely to be in it
and she was gutted when she realised
I was right
but I was like a pig in shit having
not one, but TWO Mandalorians strutting their stuff, one of whom was Fett! Plus Slave One! I even got excited when he used that armament which came with THAT sound!
. I mean, come on!! If you're a Star Wars fan, and not enjoying it at this point, you're dead inside!

I'm having the same problem Eamonn is - you need to type your name in and allow it to be visible for me to be able to stick you in the raffle. It is one of those quirks of JustGiving that makes it a bit annoying.

Go to the link above, have a look for your name in the list of donations, and if you cannot see yours then please email me your JustGiving email receipt to:

If this were the premise:

Insurance Man : Thank you Ripley, that will be all.
Ripley : [aggravated]  Goddammit, that's *not* all! 'Cause if one of those things gets down here then that *will* be all! And all this...
[Ripley grabs up a few pieces of paper]
Ripley : This *bullshit* you think is so important...
[Ripley tosses the paper, scattering them]
Ripley : You can just kiss all of that goodbye!

I always thought a film set on Earth would be great - a constant war of attrition where humanity is pushed to the brink, based on an enemy that does not feel emotion, does not fear death, is merciless, and seemingly endless in number.

This could be good!

Everything I have wished for since Jedi is now coming to pass. What a great time to be alive! (Except for, you know, COVID19, Brexit, rise of fascism, climate change etc)

Just in case you missed this - made me chuckle:

Here's a thought. The daily deaths in the US from COVID-19 yesterday were 3000. The US population is about 5 times that of UK.

So the number of deaths in the US would be the equivalent of 600 people dying in a day in the U.K. recently.

Which they have.

If you have time, I thoroughly recommend this 45 minute webinar, hosted by Leeds University, from Prof. Katharine Hayhoe, world-renowned climate scientist and communicator.

It covers, amongst other things:

- climate history
- the politics that drive acceptance or denial of the science
- who has been responsible for the emissions over the years
- how communication is absolutely key to working on the #climatecrisis

Essential viewing!

There's a really interesting aspect of this about 30 mins in which covers a subject we've discussed, and it's around the nature of polarisation in society, and the tendency to double-down when your ideology or political affiliates are attacked. It discusses how to avoid this also.

I think we all tend to rage against the night on occasion, so maybe this is a worthwhile alternative approach/viewpoint!
