Fab would be OK probably.

So certain you sound!

I'm definitely up for a Friday 2000AD meet-up/drink.

The first thing I did when I had surplus cash as an adult was buy the AT-AT my parents could never afford to get me as a child. It even has the chin guns intact, and has pride of place towering over my ninja turtles, Slaine and Ukko, wood-effect Nemesis, and Fallout 3 bobble head.

The other 2000AD figures I have are still in the packaging. I can't bring myself to open the Dredd figure with the sticker signed by Carlos Esquerra on the front.

I also have a dress-up costume uniform I occasionally wear.

Edit: almost forgot! I have a nice pine effect coffee table too.

That's excellent, thanks guys! I'll store my kit in the car and just take a small rucksack of stuff to the hotel. Talk about convenient! I'm very much looking forward to this.

Player of Games is a slow burner, but my absolute favourite. Use of Weapons is a very close second.

Budget Ibis booked, time booked off work, Thoughtbubble weekend/party tickets bought!  This' ll be my only con for the rest of  the year, so it'll be one hell of a party!

On a more practical note, does anyone know of any good car parking spots by the Budget Ibis, LS9? Google is not very forthcoming tonight.

Budget Ibis in LS9 still has some rooms available, if anyone is interested.

Good spot. I managed to miss that — cancelled my very expensive accommodation and booked in here instead. Friday and Saturday for significantly less than I was going to pay for just the Saturday. I may very well owe you a pint — thanks!

Cheers

Jim

If the rooms are all gone by the time I get to book it, I'll settle for a sleeping spot on the floor of your room!  ;)

I really want to go to this as well. I know I looked into it last year , and I'm not thaaat far from you. It wasn't so much the cost , but the time it would have taken on the train , stops included.

It's about a 4 hour drive direct from Cardiff to Leeds.  A detour to collect you wouldn't be that bad I suppose, another hour.  I'm thinking of travelling up on Friday afternoon at the moment.  Would that suit you?

Can anyone find the postcode of the event, so I can do some hotel searches please?  I've gone through the site and can't bloody find it!

It's looking more and more likely I'll be coming to this - my first Thoughtbubble ever!  Can anyone recomemnd a good (cheap) hotel near to the venue please?

What's everyone's thoughts on driving/parking versus bus/train?  Is it easy to get to on public transport?

Cheers for the pic CFM!

The Pon Far Spock made me chuckle. The Dredd figure looks really good!

My vacuum cleaner stopped sucking the other day (discovered after my eldest decided to sprinkle raw porridge oats all over the landing stairs), and when I opened it?  Yeah, you guessed it - blocked up with shitloads of fucking loom bands.  Bastard blood brightly colured elastic crap!

Is it a sequel to his book?  or the film?  The book was superb, the film less so, but still excellent.

How to Train Your Dragon 2 - loved it!  Lots of dragons, a good plot, some really touching moments, and ace 3D.
