Thanks mate! I'll have fun with that this evening.

Plus I might make a meme out of it.

English reads in the wrong direction for the original artwork.  I remember reading a Naruto volume where he kicked three dudes in the face for 200 pages, then turned into a bunch of naked girls and rubbed his/their boobs on someone for 30 more pages and then that guy got an erection and fell over when his pants came off and I thought "the artistic value of this book has been compromised by the act of translation."

:o

That wasn't in the computer game!!!

Brilliant!  Love them both!  Where can I find that photo of Lex?  My mind is ticking over with plays on the 'Wait for what?' theme...

I read most of Death Note unflipped, which was my first experience of trying.  At first it was a right pain, but after about the third volume it seemed to click all of a sudden and became perfectly natural.

The only problem was, when I tried to read a 2000AD right after a six volume binge, my eyes automatically started scanning panels right to left!!

Ah, EW makes sense indeed. Any word on the panel or Minty times yet?

Cool - Ernest Willows is in easy walking distance from my place. Drop the kit off, hit the pub! Sweet!

Sky Arts has some really good 'reality' stuff on.  I watched an interview with Tom Baker last night.  It was awesome!

How is Netflix's selection?

I still swear by discs and to a lesser extent downloads over streaming as my broadband speeds are totally unreliable and always slow as shit.

Netflix is great as long as you get the full selection by tricking it into thinking you're based in US by using an american DNS i.p.

I've not tried that, but I hear Xbox Live combat it with regular updates that block the popular US servers.  Also, you have to manually enter the primary and secondary IPs each time you want to do it, which is a pain in the arse.

The selection on the UK Netflix seems pretty good, though to be honest, since I found the entire back catalogue of Breaking Bad I haven't looked into it much further!  I'll have a browse over the next couple of days and let you know.

Yep - Netflix all the way.  Working through season three of Breaking Bad at the moment.

As for TV dumbing down, wasn't it always like this..?  Anyone remember 'Game for a Laugh' or 'Larry Grayson's Generation game'?  Basil bloody Brush?!?  Boom ferkin Boom!  'Neighbours' and 'Home and Away', for god's sake!  It was all bollocks!

QuoteA meme (pron.: /ˈmiːm/; meem)[1] is "an idea, behavior or style that spreads from person to person within a culture."[2] A meme acts as a unit for carrying cultural ideas, symbols or practices, which can be transmitted from one mind to another through writing, speech, gestures, rituals or other imitable phenomena. Supporters of the concept regard memes as cultural analogues to genes in that they self-replicate, mutate and respond to selective pressures.[3]

So basically, if we all make enough Dredd memes, and get them out there, we are spreading an idea, behavior or style that spreads from person to person within a culture.

HOW much?  I think I still have the complete series sitting in a box because I literally could not give the fucking things away at one point.

Vols 5, 7, 9, 14, 12, 17 all nearing £20. Volume 13 & 16 at £30 mark. Looks like a good time to sell up if you're after the cash now  ;)

Aaargh!!  I do need cash, but I really don't want to part with mine!!  I wish I hadn't seen that...

I downloaded Proteus from Steam last night. Only £6.  It's just a bizarre ambient stroll around a kind if 8-bit 3D island.  You see and, most importantly, hear loads of odd things. It's chilled and amusing.

Yep, same. I agree with all of the above. I often sit down to eat my food and flip the Tv on.  By the time I channel hop and find something even vaguely worth watching I've eaten all my food!  All I can say is, thank fuck for Netflix.  I'm a convert.

Is there an equivalent for ordinary 3D Tv or Blu-Ray player? Can't afford surround sound, but happy to shell out on decent headphones.  Don't have a PS3 unfortunately.
