Apologies if this has been posted already, or if you've seen it doing the rounds on FB, but this reaction reminded me of the swirling emotional maelstrom in my head when I saw it in the cinema:

I still love it.

I picked up the 3D version, and while it's not the best 3D in the world it does really help with the murkiness of the film. It's easier to pick things out when they're not flat, if you know what I mean.

Working today and clearing scrub from a Puffin Island tmw so the wee darlings can burrow their nests, its my first time doing this so totally out of my comfort zone.

Good work dude - that sounds awesome! Whereabouts are you doing that?

As for me, resting today after the march yesterday and subsequent piss-up. Tomorrow it's back to harp practise and more climate change science study.

Fab banners.

Cheers dude!

Brilliant result yesterday. People in over 160 countries marched. Best estimate is 6 million plus marching worldwide!  Some of the pics popping up from places like Berlin, Tasmania, places in Africa etc, are astonishing.

Fab turnout in Cardiff too, and the above banners made the news. Here's a couple of pics:

Outside Welsh parliament - spot the banners!  :D

There are a whole host of events still to come, arranged by a variety of groups.  For example, Extinction Rebellion are organising a sit-in of government offices in October, again around the world. Also, many working groups are gathering volunteers from all walks of life to confront policy makers with alternatives that use fewer resources, and proposing sustainable changes.

So much work ahead of us!

In the meantime, my studies on the science of climate change continue. Did the midpoint exam on that Prof. Michael E Mann course - scored 94%, so doing well. Got one question wrong about radiative forcing which was a real 'Gah!' moment - that should have been an easy one for me.

Anyway, onwards and upwards.

Anyone else about to hit the streets?

Also, get your climate temperature stripes from:

https://showyourstripes.info

It is a cracking website by Professor Ed Hawkins of Reading University. He wanted a striking way of illustrating temperature changes between 1850 and 2018.

Here is the global version, but you can tune it to your country if you follow the link above.

Anyone joining the Climate Strike protests on Friday?

We've got one placard painted up already.

Not sure where your nearest is?

Follow this link and scroll to the bottom of the page for a map.

Here you go - this webpage was included in my course reading materials, and is a fascinating breakdown of climate modelling, including the cycle you mentioned above:

The Milankovitch Cycle.

Thanks Sharky! I've literally just covered that in module 4 of the course I'm doing! It's a blow-by-blow on climate modelling, using the past to predict the future, and this cycle is featured in it.

Going on a motorboat for a spin around a nearby island shortly, followed by food and booze and bingo at one of those hipster places that seem to think its somehow zany. I'm just there for the booze. Let's hope that's not cinnamon infused schnapps or some shit.

Tomorrow I am praying I am not too hungover as I desperately need to practice. My harp tutor gave me a right bollocking on Tuesday for not working on a tricky grade six piece that's been giving me grief for months.

Saturday night should be a laugh - snagged some super-cheap tickets for my partner and I for the musical of Little Miss Sunshine at the theatre.

Sunday is going to be full steam ahead with the studies, both harp and the science of climate change course.

I'm  up to module four on that climate change course at the mo, and looking at some crazy computer models that dissect the Earth for a mile up and a mile down, chopping it into little squares all the way around the globe, and appliing crazy physics to each to represent atmosphere, water, land use, temperatures and humidity, ice albedo, ocean currents, wind currents, and goodness knows what else. Each square interacts and informs the other, so when the supercomputer crunches the numbers it can then tell us how fucked we all are.

Fun times!

Hungry, abused, powerless.

We are not powerless. We are the power - that's they're afraid to tell us, and what we're afraid to admit.

Tell that to the poor fuckers out there literally BEGGING for a No Deal Brexit.

Apologies for the typo - not Greek areas, GREEN areas.

Though the smashing of plates has risen, as sadly domestic violence is also on the increase.

Indeed. At ground level we are completely fucked. Voluntary Services are being stripped to the bone. Just in Wales we've lost youth services, child mental health services, drug and alcohol services, community centres, Greek areas, woodland areas, etc etc etc. Homelessness is soaring, poverty in general is soaring, child poverty is particularly awful, and so on.

Unions are almost a thing of the past, apathy is rife, and the electorate are being led by the nose by the media.

Even when the UN Special Rapporteur rocked up and told everyone what a dreadful poverty stricken shitshow it was the government and media barely batted an eyelid. Why would you report those things though, if the populace IS EXACTLY WHERE YOU WANT IT TO BE? Hungry, abused, powerless.

The working class is now the service class, unwittingly servile to those who control the narrative - the millionaires and billionaires.
